  1. So the relics don’t grant a favour trickle as far as I know, each relic provides a unique buff to the civilisation, things like 10% better cav or 25% cost reductions of specific technologies.

Each faction has a unique method of gaining favour. Greeks worship at the temple, Egyptians build statues and the Norse fight to gain favour

  2. Here have some game knowledge

3:41 They are called relics. You get it later. They actually give a unique bonus when stored in the temple, each one is different.
3:42 Think the age ups like wonders in aoe3. You get a god power (minor god is the usual term), some unique techs and a different myth unit based on who you went up with, they usually have a theme of some sort.
4:48 Sentinel doesn’t replace towers, it’s in addition to. Further Egypt does get its tower upgrades for free upon aging up. Or at least it used to. Some of this may not apply to the current version, I know some of the major gods unique bonuses changed.
5:10 Counter system is fairly straight forward as you said. Hero units>Myth units>Human units>Hero units. Between human units it’s the usual infantry>cavalry>archer>infantry thing but there are some exceptions like the Norse Huskarl which is an infantry unit that counters archers.
5:40 Each civ has a different system for resource drop off. Greek is similar to aoe2 though their storehouses work for gold and wood. Norse have ox carts, Egypt must build each building individually but it’s free. Atlanteans which you’ll like because of this have an aoe3 system, they don’t have or need drop offs.
10:18 I think you’ll go for one of the Egyptian gods or Atlanteans. Egypt are natural turtles and get the best defensive upgrades but Atlanteans have a few things here too and of course have the aoe3 gather system. Still turtling is risky in aom because of the importance of controlling the settlements which give extra population space. You can do it but it can’t be a long term plan.
12:44 Pestilence is different now. It used to simply block unit production (like effected buildings would only get to 99% but never finish) but now it stops missiles but only slows training not disables it. Interesting. Of course powers being reusable will be interesting too, previously it was one and done unless you were Atlanteans.
14:53 They are heroes. Only Greek get unique named heroes and while they are excellent per cost, there’s only one of them per age. Norse get Hersirs which have random names and are expensive infantry while Egypt gets priests which while excellent on myth units are dog poo on anything else or they can use their pharaoh.
18:40 Not this time. At least not from me. This non tc villager training is a new feature. AoM previously only let you train vills from TCs. As I said earlier, controlling settlements is vital because of population.
22:10 Those javelin or spear throwing units the Norse have are new too. They seem to be ranged heroes, something Norse didn’t have before. They used to have to use throwing axemen with an upgrade to counter flying myth units.
