Hecate is fantastically written (Chaos Trials) – Run#32 – Light Commentary | Hades 2 Early Access

We are doing a series of Chaos Trials for this episode. Talk of possible new format for more runs. We’ll see if that’s possible. No promises, but I’ll give it a try, for reasons you’ll find out.

That Trial of Haste isn’t something you can brute force your way it seems!

Now Hecate! Hecate is easily one of the best written characters here. Obviously, she’s Mel’s mentor, mom, leading the Silver Sisters, the Crossroads, etc. She does it all. The other VAs is fantastic, but Amelia Tyler does a stellar job in this scene alone. Ugh* We don’t deserve Hades 2.

Notes about the format suggestions:
– some of you want more runs, it could be possible now.
– 2 runs in an episode, more restraint on texts.
– in the process of clearing more space.
– idk if ppl want those interaction videos still lmao, but those will free up space once I get them shipped. (Technical testing content)
– open for discussion.

Notes:
– The best Hecate and Meli interaction yet.
– Eris’s golden apple.
– Moros being awkward cute again.
– Trial of Haste is tough!
– Format change.

  1. Personnally, I really like watching long videos. I put them in the background while doing my things, or simply chill in front of them (during my meals, for example) or both, since I tend to rewatch stuff, including your videos. So I really don’t mind the longer formats, whatever you put in them ! This game is amazing, from the graphics to the music, which really enhances this feeling for me. And again, your commentary makes it much more entertaining !
Those Chaos trials are quite interesting too. Useful when it comes to understanding your weapons and making new strategies !

Also Hestia’s « Oi Apollo, get your buttocks over here, I need light ! » was so funny lmao. She’s the best

  2. I have a sneaking suspicion that the Fates do actually have this all planned out and know how it's gonna go down. They sent Moros away before Chronos's attack, after all.

  3. So I just wanted to add something. In the actual myth, Circe is the one who turned Scylla into a monster (She was a pretty nymph before). I'm actually curious now if Scylla will comment on Circe's keepsake sometime :3

  4. CHAOS TRIAL RUN! That's so awesome! Thanks for the shout-out. Hecate is easily one of the most interesting mythological beings in greek myth, and I'm glad the folks who made this kept that about her. We love our magical titaness. Also, I feel like Toula should be buffed a little. You can't get her until later and by then the extra death defiance isn’t as useful, and her damage is a bit weak for having to be activated by your dash.

About what you said, about your format and your release. As much as I love your content and would greatly enjoy seeing more of it, I don’t want it to come at the cost of your health or becoming tired of playing this amazing game. Obviously you do what you want and if you want to release more you have my full support. But if you like things the way they are, you have my full support on that too! I love your style of light commentary, I absolutely adore the little text boxes you add! I love your Hades II videos, and I will continue to enjoy them no matter what! Keep up the good work!

  5. Fun fact about the Scylla and the Sirens fight: In all of their songs all three band members sing but Featured Artist intensifies that person’s part of the song whether it be instrumental or vocals. Another youtuber has videos of their songs with Jetty and Roxy’s parts by themselves with a bit of backing from Scylla, just look up Coral Crown/Claw Out Your Eyes Jetty/Roxy/Scylla solo and you’ll probably find it

  6. So I think that I enjoy the videos the way they are, even though I am not closed to exploring new things ahaha and I personally believe that one of the strong points is the light commentary I find it cute and engaging and a way to keep the audience looking at the video and not just putting it as something in the background.

That Hecate dialogue was so heartbreaking :c Hecate is such a tsundere.
Btw now that we know that Jetty and Roxy can sing, I think I'll become a Jetty stand X)

  7. I'll repeat what I said last time: quality over quantity! I really appreciate your light commentary and I'd be sad to see less of it. I'm p sure it's one of the main reasons people watch these videos tbh.
I'd keep the current format as is, but if you decide to post more vids with less text I'd understand.
Regarding video lenght: I already watch all episodes, but sometimes don't get the time to comment on them. With longer episodes I'd still watch all, but maybe I'd be able to comment even less. Or only comment about certain parts

Oh yeah the other two sirens always sing backup vocals during the fight! I think it's more noticeable when Scylla goes in her shell, Jetty and Roxy will continue signing while Scylla gets muffled.

Oh man… Nem is starting to win me over ngl…

Hephaestus saying "some humans worship labrys you know"…does he mean lesbians? That's such a funny reference what

Wow… I think that Hecate interaction might be my favorite in the whole game yet

  8. 8:15. Scylla was once a beautiful nymph and she was the daughter of Phorcys and Crataeis, and older sister of Thoosa.

The fisherman-turned-sea-god Glaucus fell madly in love with her, but she fled from him onto land, where he could not follow. Despair filled his heart and he went to the sorceress Circe to ask for a love potion to melt Scylla's heart. As he told his tale of love about Scylla to Circe, she herself fell in love with him. She wooed him with her sweetest words and looks, but the sea-god would have none of her.

Circe was furious, but with Scylla and not with Glaucus. She prepared a vial of very powerful poison and poured it in the pool where Scylla bathed. As soon as the nymph entered the water, she was transformed into a frightful monster with twelve feet and six heads, each with three rows of teeth (True story).

Her younger sister Thoosa became the mother of Cyclops Polyphemus by Poseidon.

  9. I actually think you got it right on the first try. You’ve hit that sweet spot of commentary, length, and upload schedule. Nothing overstays its welcome. It makes perfect background audio for me when I need something to listen to and it’s a good watch if I just want to lay down for YouTube videos.

  10. Honestly, what Hecate needs more than conversations with Melinoe is to straight up talk to Hades or Persephone, or probably both. Because her problem isn't really with Melinoe herself, but more of how she's 'usurped' Hades and Persephone's 'rightful' place as her parents, and how she believes she raised Melinoe to be a weapon. She did, but the thing she's missing is that she also raised Melinoe with LOVE. We literally see that slapped across our faces in the very first flashback with a younger Melinoe. The fact that she's wrestling with guilt over that fact is just more evidence on how much she truly loves her. GOD this game is so good.
