Unfortunately for Zagreus, he never really got to see much of the surface because the narrator kept having him die in some comical way, like getting butted off a cliff by a goat. 😛
I have an idea for a work around:
Janus, god of doorways and archways. In the game “Smite” that translates on gameplay to Portals he or his team can traverse though, or can use them to confound enemies with…
We could have the “Hades” equivalent create a portal that hovers around Melinoë’s midriff. The top half of her is on the surface, while the bottom half remains in the underworld (with a mechanism installed in place to allow for free movement without bumping into things in the UW.) THAT WAY she’s still where the fates want her to be, even as she’s where they DON’T want her.
