  1. I would argue magic the gathering can have a far greater potential return in the end, considering that it has one. I bought a $20 pack of cards and pulled a card that was circulating on the secondary market for no lower than $250. I only regret not taking a picture of the card lmao RIP ☠️

  2. 23:59 this is what people really have to realize in this game, in all of these games, and MacChan is the perfect example. They effectively got him addicted. Time after time, he spent tons of money for NOTHING, and he continued to do this expecting something to change. This is the definition of insanity as they say, but at the end of the day it's an addiction to "well, what if I win?" and the constant need to get that feeling you get IF you do.

The house always wins, especially here because Raid doesn't lose anything if you win. Plarium has no overhead for anything in this game. They're simply shiny pixels designed to get you to spend, much like a slot machine with the colors and noises.

  3. My father chose to invest their entire life savings on a stock tip, without telling our mother, and lost everything… and then tried to gamble the money back so she wouldn't find out. He financially ruined our family.

So, I get a little turned off by the seeming glorification of gambling that runs rampant in these games, and these communities. So many massive shard pull videos, from people who obviously spent a ton of money to get them, and no thought given to what it's doing to the people in the community itself. So many potential addicts that may not know they are that way. The players who spend the most get put up on pedestals in the comment threads and discord channels….. they brag about spending 'enough money in four years to be able to buy a Tesla Model 3'. That's not something to brag about. That's disgusting.

There may be a few players that can afford to drop that kind of cash without any repercussions in their lives, but the vast majority of people can't…. but still many of them do. Because it feels good to get that dopamine hit. It feels good to get that amazed reaction from the community when you post that incredible shard pull. The plain fact is though that for every person that 'can' afford to 'whale out' like that with no fallout….. there are 500 others who can't. This type of behavior is creating real problems, with real players, who aren't able to see the signs of gambling and addictive personalities. I've seen friends divorced because they take their entire paycheck to the casino and lose it all. I've see some steal their girlfriends rent money to play the slots. I've lived through a family member setting his family back financially 20 to 30 years because he wanted to be a hero and make the 'fast money'.

So many players more than likely nursing a gambling addiction by overspending in these games, and when someone posts a comment like this… just watch the people come out of the woodwork and defend this type of behavior. It's sick, and it's sad.

  4. I definitely got down the rabbit hole, champ chasing…spent well beyond my means… because hitting buy on the screen makes it soo easy. I’ve definitely hit on marichka/taras/ditches/kymar.. and so on. Definitely wish I got it under control well before.

  5. J, I don't know if you will read this, but the psychologist aspect working on things, they have had psychologist working on all sorts of aspects of where we spend money… from swirled carpet in places to flat color in others and cubes in yet other places each used to turn you, keep you straight, or stop you and it's amazing how much of an effect it has. To the new layouts of grocery stores shifting doors to the corners and rounded end caps, you want to walk around a round thing… a roundabout haha. Or large stores usually clothing based, and you walk in from a large parking lot yet more times than not go out the wrong way, making walking around the long way and back in and through the short. But you're back in the maze … anyways having these aspects analyzed even in a game makes logical business sense, morally or ethically… opinions vary on that but most lean one way haha anyway something I randomly came across as an odd brain buzz subject 20 years ago or so. But ya, anyways… keep it mellow right, haha .. thanks I have been watching most every day and picking up bits and pieces of how to play smart 😉 thank you for that 🙏🙏

  6. There's some talk about Plarium being owned by a gambling company, and complaints about the ads, but not much on how the mechanics of raid push compulsive gambling type of behavior.

Psycholical stuff going on is sketchy, they aim for a socially isolated and potentially vulnberable demographic

If reddit trolls etc would back off there is real potential for a class action lawsuit

  8. More people need to realize Raid is one of the really bad gacha games that that give the industry a bad name.
Absolutely everything in Raid is the worst possible version of what a gacha game is.

  9. The only time I ever felt compelled to buy something was when every content creator was shilling super hard for the forge pass. But it's so expensive in Canada 28 bucks is a lot.
Everything in this game is so overpriced and not worth it so it's easy to not spend money to me. Other games do it much better and I've spent there like on monthly passes or special events where you get decent value for your money. But raid is like fuck you 15 dollars for a primal shard lol.
Its just fools parting with their money, or people so rich they aren't bothered with spending.

  10. This makes me think about how Dave and Busters changed the game with Pay cards with their video games. Not only does your money become harder to track while it's on the card but you also aren't realizing how ridiculously jacked up the rates are on the games themselves. It's crazy that it remains to be legal business practice to "trick" or "con" your clients out of their money.

  11. I do casinos opposite than you. Once I start winning I put the money that I came in with away and only play with my winnings. I usually make some kind of all or nothing bet on the roulette table as my last bet of the night. If I win I double my money if I lose I break even for the night. I'm probably about 10k up over the years which is cool.

  12. I watched HH's video earlier and I really liked it. I was trying to decide if I wanted to watch this one immediately and I am glad I did. He didn't directly call out Plarium for their tactics and I am glad you did. It made the video far more satisfying. I am not a gambler, and I am predominately a 90's gamer (buy the completed game, and WIN the game, stop playing the game, wait for the dev's next release eagerly). This model puts me off, and I resent the pressure to pay, and pay walls for great content. RESENT it. I am a fusion player because I can work to win *something*. Surprised, sometimes, that I haven't quit the game.

  14. Got to always remember plarium and therfore raid, are owned by a casino company. It is a gambling game, almost every action you do is a gamble. People forget to treat a casino win or gambline win the same as a good investment, take profit, then take risk on your initial investment. People are totally addicted to that what if i do win big feeling.

  15. I actually like that Raid is doing it this way. Its a red flag, other businesses don´t and trick more people. i´ve always been F2P and will be, raid is going to be my first and last Gatcha thats for sure. Rly thought about giving Watcher of Realms or now Dragonheir a look but nah, I´m good. Don´t want to tickle that novelty weakness most people including me have.
I think plarium is doing unethical things ethically in a way. The Price is there, its high, we know the miniscule odds. You decide!
Are you an addict or not? I really think the way how people play raid says A TON about them.
I´ve been fascinated about how differently players approach the game. I honestly have to dig deeper into why I play the way I play WAAAY more.
Why do I still 2key UNM CB after 3-4years? Why did I wait so long to just try NM Hydra and get 1key dmg on the 2nd try.
Why do I care so much about resource effiency? Basicly why do I limit my enjoyment in the game. Why do I care so much in general, while others just don´t and enjoy more?
Why am I more long term oriented than other players? Why do other players instantly max out a new gamechanger champion while I take months and months to do so.
Am I a late adopter, lazy or do I just now care? Or is it just habit? Why do I see the value of certain champs but not the value of others? (didn´t see the value of archbishop pinthroy or mother cybele but many other guaranteed or fusion champs)
Also why am I so hard on myself?
I rly think one can actually do some kind of therapy or at least reveal many aspects by analyzing ones own play(ing) behavior.

  16. JGigs, God gave you the grace to not pick up on the addiction. There is no luck in life. Your testimony of family is like many of us. It reveals what sin has done to the world. Grace gets us to be free so we can see that sin is death. Thank God for Jesus. He can use grace to save our souls. This may sound weird here, but it proves who plays Raid. Im a Christian and i play Raid which some think is odd. But being a Christian is about being saved by grace, not being so good I cant pop some shards. I love your channel because bumps and bruises and all, God made you into a talent and gifted man. Keep it up..

  17. 1/38 for single number hit in roulette, best $ ever spent on RSL is when you purchase a account-takeover for 1-key NM/UNM Clanboss & Hard+ Hydra to maximize rewards as soon as you have a fleshed-out account IF you are struggling to do it yourself (which would be free). keep grinding daily and let the rewards (shards) stack for a while (1 month+), congratulations, now you can actually play the game and do fusions/guaranteed's 🙂

  18. then there are these vids promoting unhealthy spending habits which are like "wow this crazy kraken is gonna pull 900 void shards for champ x" etc. If people are serious about promoting healthy habits, that is not the way.

  19. My wife and I went to the casino last year and when I got home all I could think about was going back… for days at a time. We shuffled money around and went back 3 weekends in a row and had the best time, but lost all of your money every time. Funnily enough, they host a lot of Aristocrat slots (Plarium's parent company). So I sympathize with HH where I can lose the money I go with, but the urge to go back is so intense.
That being said, the guy I sat down beside was popping in $100 bills left and right doing $25+/spins on slots and he probably lost 10K in 5 minutes. Was insane.

  20. I saw his video pop up and my first thought was, "HH is quitting raid" my second thought was "maybe i should too" it's not about that but the fact that i thought it could be shows where the state of the game is at right now.

  21. i understand hh has to make content but to say he has an addiction is tough to say. because if u have an a addiction u would look for help not make a video saying u have a problem because if u truly have an addiction u would get help to stop. but its kinda hypocritical of him saying he has a problem knowing hes gonna just spend more im just saying people with addictions that are struggling getting help and trying to do better them selfs this is a mockery and think should be addressed to anyone actually fighting addictions and struggling contact someone local keep it prtivate and work on your self to be better and improve your self and stay blessed. and jgigs keep the vids up your amazing and truly great to know you sir.
