  1. There's actually 14 Olympians even though they're called the 12 Olympians. Hestia gave up her seat for Dionysus but still counts as a Olympian since Olympus has the hearth of Hestia. The 14th one is Hades.

  2. There are 13 major Olympians; Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, Hestia, Demeter, Athena, Ares, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Dionysus, Hermes, Artemis and Apollo. By adding Hera, Apollo, Hestia and Hephaestus, the amount of non-Hermes gods (assuming Hermes behaves the same and none of the additional gods behave like Hermes does) increases by 50%, which means it’s harder to have any individual god in your god-pool. However if they were to increase the size of the god-pool to 6 to be half of the non-Hermes total, as with the pool of 4 in Hades 1, that would make it less likely to get god you want boons from when they’re already in the pool. I think it’s probably best to stick with a god pool of 4, but possibly add more options for chamber doors (particularly in shops) in order to allow more choice over what gods you can add to the pool outside of keepsakes

  3. what if there was more choice given. like, run doesnt go longer, but at the end of each zone, you can choose what the next zone is, and each zone will offer a different gods. maybe you can see what gods will come up in the each biome, so you can have more choice that way

  4. I will say my favourite dark souls is actually DS2. It's just much better imo than 1. 3 feels too regressive, like they walked back a lot of the cool ideas of 2. And Bloodborne is superior to all of them.

  5. I think one of the pacts of punishment in Hades 2 should be extending the number of chambers. Something else that could be interesting and a bit of a reverse for the god keepsakes would be to have several pacts that eliminate a specific god so you can do a no god run, a one god run, or get the exact mix of gods you want maybe with the penalty being that your ability to see anything above a common boon drops with each god slashed from the potential pool.

  6. The Greek Pantheon
    1. Zeus
    2. Hera
    3. Poseidon
    4. Demeter
    5. Apollo
    6. Artemis
    7. Hephaestus
    8. Ares
    9. Aphrodite
    10. Hermes
    11. Athena
    12. Dionysus

There is a thirteenth — Hestia who was one of the original 6 siblings who gave up her seat for Dionysus.

  7. So, fewer chambers per zone works, if we get better rewards consistently. I’ve had runs with: gems or darkness? as my next chamber option, and that’s rough.

Maybe all chambers having a god boon exit could work. Or, Infernal Troves could be replaced with Olympian Tests, and you can earn a bonus god through a challenge by spending extra time in a room.

I’m sure they already have an idea, but speculating is fun.

Also, super happy to see another Hades run today. Wasn’t sure if Soulstember would make recording runs impossible. Thanks a lot!

  8. Hades 2 God selection problem solution:

I think they should do more paths when exiting chambers to give more choices, and they should have less currency items like keys and gems as chamber rewards (or make those items obtainable a different way).

  9. For me, the RPG element of Soulslikes is major. I need my skill AND my choices to have equal currency. Swapping armor for specific resistances, using consumables, trying utility spells… DS3 is weak in that area, even if it has the funnest bosses to R1 & dodge around.
It's also why I love DS2—that game being infuriating pushes you to find solutions other than play better melee.

  10. i was never into a rogulike and soulslike games but hades is a beatifull game that i absolutely loved and as for soulslike i recommend you a "Remnant from the ashes" which is also an incredible game with a lots of replayability and variety in it

  11. My personal theory is that there will be some sort of branching path system in hades 2, with certain gods exclusive to certain areas (unless they've already been added to your pool) ((also the first area would have the option for every god)). That lets you take advantage of having more god choices while still being able to limit your pool to a smaller number.

Edit: OR maybe they make you choose before your run which set of 8 you want to possibly appear. keep the same amount of options during the run but let you shuffle around which ones you have the ability to run into

  12. Something that could potentially be fun as a meme run is maximizing trap damage with Hera's Trap Jars, Heightened Security, and Stygian Shard. Maybe you start with Hera's Keepsake to seek out the Dash Boon, swap to the Artemis keepsake for the Moonlit Snares Duo Boon, and then equip the Bone Hourglass and look for Wells of Charon. If they don't count as trap damage, this won't work at all, but if it does, I feel like it could be super fun

  13. I'm such a sucker for status effects in RPGs and stuff, so my weird goblin brain would put Hera on the attack and put a status effect (maybe Chill or Jolted?) on the special so it pops off twice.

Or, if I'm feeling particularly cheeky, I'd do Aphrodite on the special and fish for her Legendary in the hopes that Weak also happens twice so I have double the chance of charming enemies.

God, I love this game. Can't wait for Hades 2.

  14. What if there were more layers of the underworld and each run would random 3 out of the pool of biomes? or have them in segments? like first 3 layers, next three layers and so on each run is just one segment?

They could also add another slot when choosing boons so 4 options would be offered instead of 3, giving more rolls for the boons you want to get.

Also I'd love to see an option to use gods to alter a weapon. (really to just completely change the gameplay of the whole run, doesn't have to be weapon based.)

Ex. Zues shows up and instead of choosing boons, you can borrow his lightning bolts (replacing your chosen aspect) for the whole run, BUT you will NEVER see Zues boons for the rest of the run. and each god has the option to do this ONLY the first time you encounter them. Maybe put it as a reward for full hearts on a god?

  15. If they add a new biome, they could make fewer chambers and lose the unnecessary rewards like darkness, gems, and orange thingie. You could get those stuff another way (which i think would be way more fun anyways)

  16. Hestia I think was the easiest to beat 32 heat. You could put on an approval process 2 and just hope for artemis attack in the first chamber because the rest of the build doesn’t matter much. Main pact setup for me was em3, 20% forced overtime, approval process 1 or 2 and 5 minute deadline, the rest can be allocated to taste

  17. Bloodborne is my favorite game of all time so you can image how stoked I am for Lies of P. I haven't preordered a game in YEARS and I did for that one. Played the demo twice so I'm ready to jump into a game similar and I just hope they finish strong

  18. The random nature of the game is definitely a detriment. There definitely needs to be a way to go between more random and more directed, maybe some benefit for choosing a more randomized run vs a targeted one. Right now, a run can be utterly decimated if you get awful boons/hammers in the first two biomes.

  19. with this mod there are 13 boon gods right? 10 from the base game and 3 from the mod. does it seem like an issue to put builds together or is the 4 god pool still ok enough with 3 more gods in the overall pool.

  20. Would be kind of neat for alternate zones to have like a higher chance for certain gods so appear. So the build you're going for can determine what paths you want to take. Randomized gods every run so you're not just picking the same path every time you want that build.
