Is Hades 2 wrong for Supergiant Games?

Supergiant hit it big with Hades after pushing out three prior unique games, but now they are doing a sequel after stating they would not if it was just for money. I take a look if this is or is not the right move for Supergiant and its fans. #supergiantgames #hades #hades2

  1. Even if I am not sure Hades 2 is the right choice for Supergiant, I am still really excited for it and will buy it day one. What are your thoughts on them actually making a sequel?

  2. My ultimate concern for a Hades sequel comes from how the core concept might evolve. Recreating the same linear loop with new enemies feels like a disservice to the unique experience of the original, but besides doing that it may be difficult to elevate the very tight systems into a new concept. I think Hades works so well because all of it's systems are very delicately bound together, and I'm worried about how a sequel might try to upend some of these things for the sake of seeming different.

  3. I feel like this game will be fresh enough for it to be just as loved. We will see something more like hades about every three years, and the other games the usual times as well. They'll essentially double their staff, product, and time requirements, if at all possible. Growth is the only way to survive in this world.
