  1. Interesting video but to claim very few roguelikes have come out since is crazy. Maybe few games that are as mainstream but there are tons of indie titles that have released.

  2. Hades was the first game of its type I ever played, after watching w4stedspace stream it day in and day out. I'm also interested in greco-roman things (my bloodline can be traced all the way back to the fall of the Roman empire; Rome is the only Total War game I've ever played), and I enjoy stories of how the Greek gods continue to exist in the modern era (Stray Gods being the latest example). Now I better understand why the genre never appealled to me before, and I'm glad to have started with the first game to give a narrative reason to play run after run after run. Looking forward to playing a demigoddess witch in the sequel.

Theseus better not be in the sequel…

  3. I liked it, but I got bored of the set-in-stone structure of the bosses once I beat it. I also found the story a bit in the way after a while, I would just mash A to skip the dialog. Great voice acting and writing, but when you just want to run through a dungeon, it's a bit much. I prefer roguelikes that are a bit more varied, like Isaac. Good game, still!
