  1. I don't understand your Evil Eye take. In the game's current state, basically no other enemy will kill you, even on 32 heat. Chronos is much harder than anything else. Dealing 30% extra damage to him, as something you can swap to in the final biome, is so fucking strong.

It's certainly way stronger than dealing 15% of his hp in damage instantly, and you placed knuckle bones much higher. Mathematically, dealing 30% more damage should help you more in the fight than taking 15% less damage, so I just don't understand your thought process here.

It's so easy to ensure it targets him, too, so that shouldn't be the limiting factor.

  2. i actually really don’t like the experimental hammer, as some hammers can outright ruin runs that rely on specific interactions. i had a moros torch run killed by it giving me the hammer that makes your o-special stay where you channel it instead of orbiting you. it’s probably better early on when you can get rid of it before the fields or chronos, but the experience soured the keepsake for me

  3. 14:15 I agree with the hex being not in a good place, but I do feel like it you decide to bring it biome 3 I’ve found you can pretty much constantly get at least 1 path of star (if not more)

  4. I kind of wish Circe's keepsake gave 3 tier 1 arcana cards instead of 1 upgraded one, that way you have more chance to get one that actually is nice and helpful, but it's not as good as if you had just picked it. That way it's more reliable but less swingy. Like maybe you'll get a tier 1 judgement, and get the rest of your arcana. But more likely you'll get something like the queen or the dodge one whichever you don't have. Or artificer. Or maybe the mana regen and you can maybe skip a mana regen boon. I do also wish concave stone just let you pick 2 boons once. I feel like that would make it really useful actually, letting you speed up a build you're going for potentionally.

  5. Silver Wheel is a hail mary keepsake for if you lack regen going into Chronos, but you'd have to pass up on so many good keepsakes to do so that it still doesn't feel remotely worth it.

Evil Eye is a little easier to set up than you claim however, just beating a run flags Chronos for Evil Eye. So if you are reliably getting to Chronos then Evil Eye will reliably be tagging him and feeds into itself that way. This is probably why it's a smaller damage buff than it feels it should be because it less downsides than Bell, less of a skill requirement than Antler, and Lion's Fang is going to be smaller by the time you reach Chronos. I still wouldn't take it over defensive keepsakes if I'm in a position where I'm relying on Evil Eye though.

  6. Silver wheel severly underrated, considering it's the second best magick regen behind Broken (born) gain. And once that gets nerfed you'd pretty much throw this on after mourning fields because all the other magick regen boons are far behind silver wheelbroken gain. OFc the strongest build (momus staff) doesn't need magick at all rn, but the strongest magick regen builds literally fall apart without the broken gain boon, so if you dont have hera by a certain point and dont want to fish for her, silver wheel is a pretty good alternative. Just wished it was a bit more magick like 3/4k just so i could actually use it for my favorite omega build, the torches

  7. I think the silver wheel should be toggleable, that would make it so that you can get your magick when you actually need it.

I think that crystal wheel should guarantee a Selene boon, and let you immediately upgrade it. Building around hex boons just isn’t reliable right now with how they are balanced. Also, it’s really hard to cap out the hexes currently. If that happened, and they removed morph or make it work on bosses (come on, I want to turn Chronos into a sheep), then you could build around it.

I like gold purse, 150 gold is a free boon, extra healing or damage temporarily, or whatever else you think you need. Plus, if you have a bonus gold boom, you get that benefit.

I miss mom Pom, Achilles, and the butterfly keepsakes.

  8. I kinda wish the gods' keepsakes didn't return so we saw how the game developed without them this time around because they're still the most important thing in the game.

  9. I find the take on Moroes's pin interesting because I took one look at it and wrote it off as terrible. What tends to kill me is either swarms of enemies in the fields or Chronos so it's unlikely I find myself in situations where the pin really saves me. Intentionally triggering it when there's few enemies left is interesting and something I never thought to do but I'd never feel confident I'm on the last enemies to do that.

Ones that decay or have a time limit I find very offputting because I hate the idea that I'm getting weaker over time. Even if I can make that last a good stretch that still feels undesirable to me. I never want to be getting weaker over time.

I tried the Antler for a while too since it was the first keepsake I got and it was too early for me to build specifically for that and I take way too much damage against Chronos to ever build for it long term.

I find overall there's a lot more interesting keepsakes this time but only slightly more that I actually want to use. In both games I like the god keepsakes and the tooth and in Hades 1 the only other ones I liked after that were Hermes and the Acorn while in Hades 2 I also use Chaos, Knuckle Bones, Phial, and Sash. I find the other keepsakes interesting but I'd rather not incur the risk that comes with them accidentally shutting off what I'm trying to do or getting weaker over time

  10. there was a time when I had put on Selene keepsake, and then didn't get a path of stars offered in the zone. So it was just a brick in my build

Edit: Just because it was mentioned, on my very first run to level up Circe's keepsake, I rolled Judgement and got all the Arcana's activated by the end of the run. XD

I also adore the silken sash. I got arachne's boost to cast for apollo and hephaestus' boon that gives you armor every location

  11. I should probably give White Antler a go. That 30hp limit was scaring me off ahah.
Speaking as a mid player, I will say I value Luckier Tooth higher (A in general, or S in early game). Ghost onion was also clutch in earlish game when I was struggling with the Fields.
Again as a mid player, i get a lot of use out of Blackened Fleece (also in Fields, I generally hit the dmg limit right around then).
I would put Crystal Figurine in B. Agreed it's not the most fun or run shaping, but it's always somewhat useful, so I tend to use it in Oceanus if I have 3 gods already. Maybe I should be using the Embryo more instead!

  12. I think Silver Wheel and Evil Eye are really good, in certain cases. SW can save a run. Like, if you have too much Magick primed, don't have any good regen boons, or you're just using huge amounts amounts of Magick. SW helped me win many doomed runs.

EE doesn't need to be set up. It's really helpful early, when you're stuck on a boss. Using EE, I was able to beat every Guardian for the first time.

  13. I don't think the god keepsakes are all the same tier, at all. Aphrodite, Posiedon, and Apollo (and maybe Zeus) all are build-defining gods which really benefit from being taken first. Demeter and Hera really solve particular issues in your build (status casts or magic regen) and are amazing to use second. All the others are meh and practically never used.

  14. Discordant Bell could be a lot more interesting if modeled after the Eris boss fight where she gains 100% damage after her health drops a certain threshold.

The reimagined keepsake might be (excuse the numbers):

The first time you reach 75% of your hp, you gain X% more damage. This repeats when you reach 50%, and 25% hp.

    – Level 1:You gain 40% more damage at each threshold, capping at 120% when at 25% or less health.
    – Level 2:You gain 50% more damage at each threshold, capping at 150% when at 25% or less health.
    – Level 3:You gain 60% more damage at each threshold, capping at 180% when at 25% or less health.

  15. I think Heracles' keepsake should start at zero and go up by 5% each encounter until you beat a guardian, THEN go down by 5% each encounter (or just expire after the guardian). Then you can use it in tartarus and take some extra chambers for the extra damage, at the risk of losing health/DDs.

  16. I think it's interesting that they seem to have designed several keepsakes to be mid-run situational. If you're entering Tartarus and are in a comfortable position (not afraid of dying), and you happen to have died to Chronos last (me, for the past few weeks, since I haven't lost a run to other things in a while), then you can put evil eye on and gain some boss damage (you say 30% isn't much, but then say 40% omega damage is really nice…)—I only speak up because this seemingly-niche circumstance has happened to me three or four times in my past 10 runs.
But similarly, if you have taken a lot of damage in a run AND have an omega-based build, blackened fleece suddenly becomes a good option. If you got a good Arachne boon, silken sash (and Hephaestus as a god, for that matter) suddenly become really good. If you have only a single important common boon, aromatic phial is amazing. If your build ends up eating too much magic but you get unlucky about max-magic or regen boons being offered, silver wheel can save you for a zone or two.

  17. The thing with Concave Stone is because you've already taken the boon that you want, the other 2 are always going to be worse than the one you chose. Getting offered 2 boons that you need and having Concave Stone proc on the other boon is rare. It's more likely to negatively affect your build, most of the time gives you a useless boon. Easy low C.

  18. I think silver wheel should act as an emergency reservoir. If you try to use magic while having zero, it should pull from the 2000 reserve.

If that is OP, then make it like 1000 per night or 100 per encounters.

  19. I use the moon beam quite often on biome 3, you will always find a path there. I always do anyways. I only go this way if I have the invulnerable transformation, I can get that to just about 100% up time. Makes dealing with chronos a breeze

  20. Should've moved Silver Wheel back down to D once you got all those higher tiered keepsakes LMAO

Might wanna go and rewatch the original keepsake video too, just to see how much has changed haha

  21. Luckier Tooth is S tier IMO. It's specifically used for Tartarus, because your existing Death Defiances will be used before Luckier Tooth. This makes potentially 5 Death Defiances for Chronos, basically guaranteeing your run.
