Charon is not really that good at dodging beams. It's just that Hera Beam is terrible in so many ways, but one of them being putting crystals exactly where even slightest movement makes sure beam misses. At that range even with Clarity it will take some time for them to acquire a target again.
Lasers are fun if you get any luck at all
how did you get more than one beam per crystal??
