We, uh. We met some new … friends? Should I call them friends? That may not be entirely accurate. It’s complicated. But these were some fun runs, I got a bit confused by Zagreus’s family situation, I got THRASHED by Alecto (ugh) but I BEAT THE CRAP out of the Hydra because the shield is perfect for fighting it. I don’t know how I feel about Thanatos exactly yet, but the game did make me sympathize with him and it actually painted Zagreus in less-than-great light, which is good, he’s fantastic, we need to see some of his mistakes and weaknesses.
I’m about to unlock the bazooka and I’m very excited. I don’t even know if it’s really a bazooka. WHAT IF IT’S ACTUALLY A HOOKSHOT. If it turns out it’s a hookshot and I was calling it a bazooka instead of a hookshot, that will be a beautiful moment. We’ll find out. But it kind of looks like a bazooka. Or a motorcycle, but that seems unlikely, as cool as it would be for Zagreus to ride around the Underworld on a motorcycle flipping off his dad. A touch – not sure if anyone did mention this in chat – but Thanatos of Greek legend used a sword, whereas the Grim Reaper as we tend to know him uses a scythe (not sure where that started). Thanatos carries both in Hades, which is a nice nod to the mythos.
