  1. I hope Patreon had our backs in the past. I'd love to at least see you finish the main story, but it'd also be fun to see you unlock all the weapon variants and so on.

  2. So… Seeing as this series is three months old, would it be spoilers of a sense to ask how many episodes of Hades we can expect at this point?

Also, Casey, here's to hoping you're healing up nicely!

  3. (I don't think this is a spoiler)
Looking at the cast list for this game was so interesting, there's only a couple actors voicing the entire cast. They did an excellent job making each character sound unique! I'd like to give a special shout-out to Darren Korb (Goose/Skelly) and Logan Cunningham (Pretty much everyone else)

  4. Rogue Lite games feature systems and mechanics that allow meta progression outside of each "run" of the game to improve the characters chances at success with each successive run.
Rogue Like games do not feature any meta progression each run is a fresh start.

  5. For what it's worth, the upgraded mirror unlocks after a certain number of runs. Nothing to do with the pact of punishment/heat gage. Though that was hilarious.

My highest heat was 32. That was enough.

  6. Ah yea this game is much longer than it appears requires quite a few successful runs to finish and even more to complete. I believe Ian is the victim of his own success as the game's tutorials and narrative beats are distributed in an order that assumes a certain rate of failure and Ian has completed his first run ahead of the curve, so the game has played story beats out of order, one of the games few failings is that it doesn’t queue up story beats so they will activate in order. Certain events, such as defeating Hades, will make story beats jump the queue and the NPC RNG means sometimes the character will be absent from their station or will be interacting with another NPC so the titan's blood conversation has not played when it was supposed to.

  7. To answer the question 6 months late: this game has a solid definitive ending to the story! There might be lingering plot threads, but largely it gets wrapped up after a certain number of wins

  8. Ian almost skipping the house of Hades section, almost gave me a heart attack. Thank Goodness Casey convinced him otherwise😂
I’d personally recommend never skipping that section, and checking to make sure everyone has been talked to and interacted with, but play however you’d like. I think interacting and talking to everyone might make for a more enjoyable experience though.

  9. X-Y-Z parody would have to be about Xyz summoning in yugioh.

Those Xyz monsters even have a subcategory which all have “Number” in their name. The last one is either 107 or Chaos Imaginary number 1000.

  10. We can but hope that Ian stops sleeping on tidal dash one day, that shit is so good.

I feel like dash boons in general are unappreciated here lol. Some of them are meh but it’s still an effect on a dash that normally does no damage

  11. ROGUE’S LEGACY MENTIONED
Rogue Legacy 1 or 2? A friend got me 2 for Christmas and it’s so gooooood, I got sucked in and played the HELL out of it until I beat NG+25

The last game that sucked me in like that was, ironically, Hades.

  12. It was pretty funny how Casey talked Ian into trying max (available) Heat. You did pretty well!
I expect Patreon has asked for you to reach credits at least but I hope you keep going for a while (as long as you're having fun)

  13. You may have finished a run, but you have absolutely NOT beaten the game. There's still so much to find down there, and the story is not over. You'll know when the story is over. There's credits and everything.
Of course, I know they won't read this for another 3 months, but consider this advise for anyone in a similar position: keep playing.

  14. Oh man.

Honestly, first time at 45 heat on your….7th? run – not bad at all. You got quite far all things considered. Of course it was super frustrating though.

At this point, I dont think its correct to say you've beaten the game. You beat Hades once. You'll beat the game when the credits roll, and thats a while off still. But I totally understand why you say that. There's a lot to still discover lore-wise and gameplay-wise. 🙂

Just in case you havent noticed, you can still take the spear with no heat because you've only earned the first two bounties, titans blood and diamond. The champion's ambrosia and Hades' titan blood can still be claimed on it. And since you get darkness instead of already-claimed bounties, it can be worth running a weapon+pact with no bounties available at any time to stock up on big darkness for the mirror.

  15. this game should be almost treated like visual novel with a hack and slashly roguelike break between chapters. Keep doing runs, keep experimenting with weapons and boons, and always talk to people.

  16. Lmao, game won’t even let Ian do max Heat (64) yet because he’s going through the game so quickly that some pacts aren’t unlocked yet holy shit. These videos are just hitting me with “skill issue” over and over again, huh

  17. If anyone didn’t mention it last time, replacement boons (that is, boons that fill a slot you already have occupied w another boon) come in at a higher rarity, so it’s viable to pick a crappy one in the hopes of an upgrade down the line

  18. As far as I can gather, to get Achilles to talk to you about the titans blood, is die, a LOT, like 20+ times a lot.
So, try die speak to Achilles, repeat, until he tells you about the titans blood. Which is the most efficient but lacking entertainment solution I can think of.

  19. As you mentioned, this is way out of date, but:

There is an initial end to the main story. It's very clear when it happens.

Afterwards, there is a second major plotline with another very clear end.

On top of that, giftable characters have plotlines with at least partial endings/resolutions when the last possible gift is given.

All of the items in the keepsake box (including the ones currently ostentatiously locked) are related in some way to character subplots and related resolutions. Some can be a bit difficult to get due to pending dialogues piling up – this is what's happening at this point with the whole Achilles Titan Blood thing.

If you want to, you can try to deliberately die immediately (or give up from the menu, but that has some weird RNG comsequences) to try and get through new House of Hades event dialogue.

There's the fated list to try and complete if you like. There's cosmeticish rewards for a few specific heat levels.

    Stuff like that.
