Game Description:

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

BATTLE OUT OF HELL
As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

UNLEASH THE FURY OF OLYMPUS
The Olympians have your back! Meet Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and many more, and choose from their dozens of powerful Boons that enhance your abilities. There are thousands of viable character builds to discover as you go.

BEFRIEND GODS, GHOSTS, AND MONSTERS
A fully-voiced cast of colorful, larger-than-life characters is waiting to meet you! Grow your relationships with them, and experience thousands of unique story events as you learn about what’s really at stake for this big, dysfunctional family.

BUILT FOR REPLAYABILITY
New surprises await each time you delve into the ever-shifting Underworld, whose guardian bosses will remember you. Use the powerful Mirror of Night to grow permanently stronger, and give yourself a leg up the next time you run away from home.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE
Permanent upgrades mean you don’t have to be a god yourself to experience the exciting combat and gripping story. Though, if you happen to be one, crank up the challenge and get ready for some white-knuckle action that will put your well-practiced skills to the test.

SIGNATURE SUPERGIANT STYLE
The rich, atmospheric presentation and unique melding of gameplay and narrative that’s been core to Supergiant’s games is here in full force: spectacular hand-painted environments and a blood-pumping original score bring the Underworld to life.

  1. 29:27 Yes, that's a thing that can happen. Generally if you have one of the the 5 main slot boons from 2 different gods, though there are some more particular circumstances, the gods might team up for you. Each combination of gods has exactly 1 pair boon, aka each god has 1 duo boon with each other god (excluding Hermes and Chaos). They are their own rarity and cannot be leveled, and thus always have exactly the same effect.

  2. Yay spear! Nearly the range of the bow, but much faster. Going out with the spear should unlock the next weapon (though I'll warn you now, both other weapons are 8 keys each), and using that one should unlock the last one. So you're about 3 runs away, if you can get a ton of keys, from finding out what Titan Blood does…

  3. Listen to the game and you won't have to worry about missing stuff. All interactable spots unlock after you collect your reward and while doing that, they make a specific noise. Once you pick up on them, you'll know if it's there based on that cue.

  4. I could be mistaken, cause I've watched a few people play, but I swear you have gotten one or two Duo's before. If so, guess this is the first time your noticing since it's with your fav God.

  5. A run is never over until it's over, I've seen many a player come back from a really bad boss fight.

Poseidon seems to want to be the 'cool uncle' to Zagreus, but being god of seas, storms and earthquakes in the times before underwater sonar, the only GPS was the torch-lit lighthouse and building codes were mostly a helpful suggestion probably didn't endear him to a lot of Ancient Greeks.

I nearly went over the data limit on my phone looking at Zagreus x Thanatos fanart this month.

  6. I just want to basically praise this game again, and Keith has probably already noticed, but can we acknowledge the fact that Super Giant made the act of opening the codex context sensitive to every situation you would be opening it to? Like if you're in the room with a boon reward and want to check how many hearts you have, or are by another npc, or want to check what was updated in your codex? The attention to detail is incredible.

  7. The Minotaur appearing as a midboss seems unfair but at the very least he'll start with less health in the actual boss fight if you beat him as a midboss

  8. I suppose it's only karmic for Thanatos to resemble Edgeworth in appearance, given all the… specifics. I can even imagine how, had the game no voice acting, Keith'd give Thanatos his trademark Edgelord voice.
Orpheus' muse would be Eurydice. His design sure is a choice. Nice touch on the heavenly dual-tone voice though.

  9. 30:50 – JSYK, 15% health drop on items is fantastic in this game, given that you usually fight a dozen or more enemies per room. You'll find that you'll often be getting 3, 4, or even more a lot of the time. Per. Room. So complaining that you can't buy healing items doesn't make much sense when there's one right there. You just have to kill a few enemies to get them. Honestly, it's frequently one of the best ways to heal outside of a fountain, since you can easily get 70+ HP out of it.

  10. Just before the shop you had a healing item at the well of Charon that you passed up and then said it had no healing. Yeah it wasn't a straight up flat heal, but it was "enemies have a chance to drop healing items" which is great
