  1. I love how often in these episodes (BLG entire) Casey is the voice of the viewers and Ian is the voice of "Oh! Hey! This seems neat!"
Meanwhile Casey: "But what about THIS THING?!! Oh! Neat!"

  2. As much as I love seeing their interactions, I don't really enjoy the commitment to always Doom on everything. You can make it work on Spear attack, sure, but it takes so much more work than anything simple. And there're so many other cool and strong builds in this game… No, we hyperfixate. I hope the tides shift at some point.

  3. Day 240 of reminding everyone that Ian drank Casey’s Nesquik.

I have a complex relationship with this series. One one hand, I love it and I love watching. On the other, I know the only reason we’re getting so many episodes back to back is because Casey is sick, and that makes me sad.
    Get well soon Queen!

  4. I have to admit, its equal parts frustrating and hilarious to watch Ian fail to understand this game. He keeps ignoring hammers (literally better than any boon), he uses the spear wrong, he literally ignores the best attack that the shield has, but worst of all, HE KEEPS IGNORING FATED CHOICES AND I FEEL MY SKIN CRAWL EACH TIME LMAO

Also, it physically hurt to watch him skip that cutscene…

  5. It's crazy seeing how many people are complaining about you playing the game in a different way than they would. The “optimal experience” is the one where Ian and Casey have the most fun, not where they do everything right. I for one am loving this series and am glad it's introduced me to you two!

  6. I'm a bit surprised to see people being so critical in the comments. Like, of course new players are going to miss the occasional detail or not fully grasp something straight away. Who hasn't when first playing? This game has a lot of information & dialogue. It's easy to forget that when you have hundreds of hours of play behind you.

Personally I'm having a blast watching you crush that gameplay & enjoy the story. I'm looking forward to the next episode!

  7. Wow, what a comments section, huh?
I'm just sitting here being fascinated by finally seeing someone playing the game differently from me. I was obsessed with the fated list so seeing someone play that just isn't that fussed about it and is going for what they think feels good instead is kindof neat!
The fated list is a great way to offer incentive to players to try new things and find ways to play they didn't know they liked, but I gotta admit I definitely did still end up with my own favourite set of boons. Ian has just landed squarely in knowing what he enjoys and that's pretty cool.

I also made the mistake of reading the comments first and seeing people lament that they didn't rest when it was indicated- but watching the actual moment they accidentally skipped it it makes total sense why they didn't notice. I'm sure it'll be able to get triggered again, it'll be fine people, calm down.

  8. Genuinely so glad Ian isn't making perfectly optimal builds cause I was legitimately concerned he'd beat it the first couple episodes with how naturally he took to the game and that they'd be disappointed. You guys are doing great!!!!

Please please please be willing to play Hades II despite the mixed reception, I need to share my thirst for its characters (Eris!) with more people

  9. See, ill admit that there are some things ive watched yall miss. But like, im not sure why people think it's that big a deal?? Like, 1, it's a blind playthrough, but also 2, it's easier to notice things when youre NOT in the middle of conversation, and idk about everyone else, but yall's conversations are half the reason im enjoying this series

  10. I have had so much fun with this series! I've been sick the last few days and the daily uploads are really brightening my days! I'm so mad at all the commenters complaining about how you play! Of course there's some stuff that I was also initially disappointed to see you miss or skip (just because I was so excited to see your reaction!) but I never in a million years would leave a mean comment about that? It's so rude!
Anyway, thank you for the super regular uploads, it's been a delight

  11. I don't know if this is actually really well known. But originally all the characters in Hades were going to be naked. The gods aren't human so their nudity isn't something that they would feel shame for since only humans feel shame when nude in fact that that's the whole reason God knew Eve ate the apple. He asked them why they're wearing clothes and they would only wear clothes if they were mortified to be naked

  12. I'm sorry a lot of comments are being such butts about things! It's like the dark days of Undertale let's plays in 2015. I hope you don't let it get to you too bad, and keep playing the way you want <3

  13. Skulls are minibosses, skulls with stars are bosses. You CAN make them harder once you’ve killed dad the first time, middle management and extreme measures in the thing (you’ll know) respectively. They don’t get harder on their own tho, that’s just the variations they do on their own. (Slight spoilers) Meg will not always be on duty, her sisters will regularly be on the job too. Lernie has multiple heads by default, and which the main one that you fight is will change run to run, the rest are the support heads that come out during the phase change. Theseus will get support from a different god each run, which will change the layout of his AoE attacks in phase two, but it’s always one of the gods you don’t have any boons from. Hades only changes based on which adds he summons, some are more annoying/hard to deal with than others.

I wanna say I’ve heavily been enjoying this series. I’ve never touched Hades before (idk something about it just didn’t appeal to me), but experiencing it through you guys has been fantastic. Heck you’ve made it entertaining enough that I’m tempted to go and get it myself, cause this looks fun!

Oh, and don’t let anyone tell you you’re doing badly at this game. You made it to the final boss on like your 4th run. That’s genuinely impressive considering how frantic this game looks at all times.

  15. Oh my god, I’m over here enjoying someone enjoying a game, and I come down into the comments and just see a bunch of people shitting on them. 😭
C’mon guys, they don’t have to be doing this, they’re being nice and giving us entertainment. And honestly, it’s fun to see how other people play this game. I know that for me I didn’t really like Doom at first, so seeing Ian really like Ares/Doom is actually really cool to me!
I got a bit off topic, but honestly quit getting angry about someone “not playing the game right” when they’re playing it blind and it has quite a few complicated mechanics. Just… be nice y’all???

  16. greek mythology lesson cause i think it's important to know your actual myths, to avoid calling heraclese Hercules.
    starting with hades:
this game actually get's hades pretty spot on. he loves his wive, isn't the devil, and isn't a monster. sure hes an ass, but he has his reasons. in fact, the only really bad thing he did in the myths, was kidnap persephone, but even then, it was more on arranged marriage, that zues told hades to do.
