  1. "Greek mythology is fanficiton isn't it" That's exactly right! Everyone had their own version – clearly the reason why Zeus has so many children is because as one of the most popular gods, many places wanted their own local demigod-OC hero character with "the noble blood of Zeus"… which in retrospect quite hurt his image, lol

  2. I went to some tribes in Northern Vietnam, close to the Chinese border.

    They get aid from the government a lot and all that but their culture, according to the guide who spoke broken English, still considered kidnapping a bride relatively normal. Same with arranged, which isn't the same as forced, marriages.
