Mom Hec Cannot Accept Praises from Hades – Run#28 – Light Commentary | Hades 2 Early Access

We are doing another 8 Fear run with our comfort pick Artemis blades. Tbf we still haven’t tried Pan Aspect, and in hindsight, we could’ve debuted the Pan Blades during this run, but oh well, my fault.

Time of this post, I’ve played up to Run 32. As Nico suggested, I decided to do dedicate Run 32 with only Chaos Trials, so keep that in mind.

Notes:
– Artemis and Mel being gal pals.
– spoilers for Moros! (flames)
– Eris hints on her motives?
– Hecate deserves gratitude.

  1. Hestia’s burns always make me laugh and go oooof ! The accent makes it so much better too lmao

I genuinely wonder why Chaos doesn’t have any influence on the surface. They’re literally the source of everything, so I though they would also have access to it. Maybe they can, but just choose not to ?

Also… Isn’t Hades’ room’s music similar to « It’s in the Blood », Orpheus’ song from the first game ?

  2. I believe you get Darkness from Chaos, so just keep interacting with them, and I assume you'll get a recipe that lets you make it with the cauldron.

  3. 12:16 He’s a serial smooth-talker, and a cunning silvered-tongued one at that! Whether it’s talking himself into or out of trouble, I guess that depends on the company, but I’m sure flattery is in there somewhere as well

1:04:05 this, plus what Nemesis said that one time, about Hecate not doing her job correctly…..what DID she do, I wonder? Where’s all this guilt coming from?

1:06:20 yes so, Odysseus’s "talking himself into trouble" also applies to "talking other into trouble"…. and "talking trouble into existence"

  4. You had a bunch of Aphrodite and Posidon boons this time. Just call yourself Nerites and go off, I guess, lol. Anyway, as usual, it was a splended run! Aphrodite's attack boon is just so busted on Lim and Oros, you shredded through Chronos. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Also, I hope you'll use the Experimental Hammer a bit more as a Keepsake. I think it's very good.

  5. It's interesting how so many of Melinoë's issues are connected to Hecate. Like we already knew Mel has way too much pressure on herself. She's been training all her life to defeat Chronos, she's become somewhat of a perfeccionist. But now it also seems like she has inherited some of Hecate's own troubles? Hecate was tasked with defending the underworld and she failed, and now Mel has to fix her mistakes, in a way. This plus that whole thing about "Do not call me mother" makes this even worse
Zag had two loving, emotionally healthy mothers while Melinoë has the messiest, most dysfunctional relatinship with her mom ever. These character dynamics are so complex, it's so good

Yeah don't talk like that about my boi Polyphemus! I am both endeared and horrified by him (please stop eating sheep raw wool and all)

Mel and Moros always have the most awkward convos ever it's so funny. Can't wait to see what his romance is like

I wonder if Chronos has a voiceline if you manage to get to him still wearing one of Arachne's suits… Someone would have found that out by now right?
"Oh you decided to dress up for the occasion? Do you think this is some kind of tea party, Granddaughter?"

  6. 5:00 I mean, I can't necessarily blame Arachne for being bitter, but to be fair, her pride (saying she's a better weaver than all the gods combined) is what led to her current circumstance to begin with.

12:15 Were I to guess, she's, one, being humble, two, viewing the compliment as a potential trick to get her to lower her guard.

14:30 I mean, for the most part the gods, while surprised, haven't really shown any ill will against Mel for fighting on the surface. I mean, Heracles is being a bit standoffish about it, and frankly, who knows what goes on in Eris's mind. But aside from them, the worst feelings I've gotten from the gods is from their bruised egos of having to ask for help.

21:35 I mean, Hestia is the goddess of flames, so I supposed it should be expected that she delivers major burns like that.

24:12 To be fair, you didn't have much choice on that one. Though I do think you should be able to get an extra Death Defiance if you get that encounter, regardless of if you've used any yet.

43:15 I feel like something as major as the re-awakening of a titan is something that would be sensed before it actually happened. And perhaps the Fates foresaw enough to convince them to leave Mel in Hecate's care.

    1:00:10 River Song: Spoilers.

    1:04:15 Probably survivor's guilt.

1:05:10 Ooh, 3 Nectar per Golden Apple.

1:05:40 I get the feeling Mel had some bad experiences trying to learn archery. (Coronacht will definitely not be a weapon for her in the final game)

1:10:45 Quick Note about the Knuckle Bones, the damage dealt to a boss is one time only, but the damage reduction from bosses remains for a full run. (Side Note: I wonder what all of the keepsakes will look like once we get the actual art for them)

  7. Weird that you haven't found Darkness yet. You should eventually find it at Chaos', but maybe the Devs might tweak the RNG to make it better, eventually. Hopefully.
Not me overthinking the Skelly allergy thing, because he is a skeleton, then coming to the realisation that none of it matters because this is a game about literally killing time who is your grandpa.
Warbows are very demanding. The bow is a weapon that can cause back problems, if one doesn't train the nondominant side to balance things out.
Either that, or it's in relation to that one bow that only Od and his son knew how to string in the Odissey.
