MY NEW FAVOURITE GAME | Hades (Switch Gameplay)

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

  1. In terms of tips, I recommend to try unlock the various forms of weapons as early as possible in order to find the form of each that best fits your play style. I personally go Arthur for Sword, Hades or Guan Yu for Spear, Chaos or Beowulf for Shield depending on mood, Chiron for bow, Talos for Gauntlets, and Lucifer for The 6th weapon. It is also important to learn the symbols to plan your route effectively. I recommend focusing on Olympian Aid primarily as they make combat easier, and certain ones, like Dionysus, can help with health recovery. Quick overview of Symbols: Yellow Lightning Bolt is Zeus; Red Sword is Ares; Green Bow is Artemis; Light Blue Shield is Athena; Pink Heart is Aphrodite; Purple Chalice is Dionysus; Blue Trident is Poseidon; Orange Wing is Hermes; and later Demeter appears as a White Shaft of Wheat. Furthermore the Hammer of Daedalus grants unique upgrades to your weapon for the rest of the run until you die, many of which can be game changing. Other symbols are as follows: Purple gem/cloud is Darkness a currency for unlocking permanent Character upgrades for future runs, but generally useless for the current run, best if you have the upgrade that lets darkness heal you; Gemstones are a secondary currency used for mostly cosmetic upgrades, but also a few storyline changes and useful character upgrades; Gold Coin is for Obols, a currency lost when you die, but that can be spent during the run as Charon's shops and wells (also worth noting at said shops and wells you can buy as many items as are there and that you can afford); keys are used to unlock weapons and the Mirror of Night (the method for unlocking permanent character changes); Bags represent Charon, one of the doors before a level boss will always be charon and the other will be a reward room without enemies, they always appear around the same levels in so monitor what chamber your in for knowing how close the level boss is; a Pomegranate will upgrade one of your powers by a level; nectar bottles can be given to characters to advance personal stories, each of which has a useful reward at the end so it is worth investing in; an Exclamation Point is a Denizen of the realm you are in, who will often gift you powerful rewards without having to fight enemies, and each of which has there own personal stories with equipable prizes for completing them. Beyond that if a skull appears at the base of a door it means there is a boss in that room.
I think that's the basics. I personally go by the following prioriy level when choosing a door: Denizens, Hammers, Olympians, Key, Nectar, Darkness, Gems, Obols, Pomegranates, Charon.
    Good luck with escaping.
