Just read up on what Greek Mythology has to say about all this and yeah apparently it was actually Nemesis who cursed Narcissus to be obsessed with his own reflection after he rejected Echo's advances. ( in one version of the story anyway ).
Love Greek myth, but this has always bothered me, Narcissus never cared for a relationship and because he denied the advance of a certain nymph he was cursed

Unlike Nemesis, Echo seems to have let go and forgave him, on the Game atleast
