I’ve been wanting a Transformers Prime Megatron in my collection for quite some time and jumped on this figure when announced.

  1. Bit of a warning if you get the Breakdown and Jet Vehicon set-
The stickers for Breakdown are even worse. For each knee, there are four stickers lmao. There's also a sticker that you have to wrap around the bumper. Such a pain in the ass.
Still recommend that set, though. Really great figures for a great price.

  2. Hi PPR! I had the exact same problems you had with the stickers on my War Breakdown and Jet Vehicon set. Hasbro was clearly trying to cut corners and give us thin stickers that are exactly like the TR/POTP stickers. Though, at least with that set, maybe the stickers and Arms Microns could have been swapped out for more paint. Not sure about this set, though…

  3. Hasbro Non-QC strikes again. Ugh, that’s such a disappointment. Especially for a mail away.

The sticker issue is similar to the G1 reissues Soundwave and Hot Rod. Just poor paper stock and bad quality adhesive. Yikes.

But, that’s a cool looking dog y’all got.

  4. the original version of this hades megatron likely had the same issues as its transparent purple plastic supporting weight. they more or less re issued the takara tomy release from their prime series. the only way they would be able to fix this would be making hades entirely in a non clear plastic which may not look as good. or else the mass production would require s change to then mold the 2 pieces prone to breaking in another type of plastic requiring the creation of a new mold or wasting a lot of excess plastic parts

  5. I bought this figure years ago when it came out as the Takara "Darkness Megatron". I was so disappointed, at least my hades didn´t break… But it had a lot of QC issues which made me sell him… It was expensive and the worst part is… They are still present, the quality of the plastic was bad, lose hips, poor stickers, Microns with stupid Altmodes you don´t really want… Oh yeah and I didn´t like his chrome head sticking out in between the black armor in Jet mode. I thought they might have fixed this by now… It seems not…

  6. After that head piece snapped I heard the anger in your voice during the rest of the review which is understandable, I would have thrown it back in the box with no review done.
That set is a mess, I hope Hasbro brings their quality back up to par.

  7. To be completely honest, I just got this kit in the mail and I pretty much tossed his arms micron companions in the garbage. Most people are going to buy this set for Megatron, not some flimsy little add-ons. Cool review, by the way, and I'm personally worried about the chrome chipping, lol.

  8. Hasbro and Takara TOMY have been using clear/translucent plastic for years, and with the same QC issues with it, FOR YEARS!! I bought the Arms Micron Skyboom Shield and the red sword guy is made from red translucent plastic, and the clips in that broke too.
