That’s right, we have Toby Stephens, Poseidon himself, in the house to talk about the journey of his son, and Hades actor Jay Duplass to break down just what is motivating the god of the underworld!
it’s all coming up as Riptide Radio gets some divine intervention from Poseidon and Hades themselves, Toby Stephens and Jay Duplass, to break down Percy Jackson and the Olympians Episode 7!

I am curious how they got these people onto the show? I would love to do something similar, maybe w/ someone else for next episode. Would love some input if you see this!
Amazing amazing episode❤
One of my favorite episodes for sure
🎵shove his head into a toilet 🎶😂
I need to hear Dior sing more!
Ngl to you guys the crusty scene disappointed me heavy 😭 other than that I liked the episode but I’m hoping the finale really lands the ending well
what was y’all’s favorite scene?!
Maybe regret about running away.
My major concern with the show is that it doesn’t seem to show the characters strengths.
I have two examples.
When Cerberus stopped I thought damn what a good showcase of Grover using nature magic to calm down a dangerous animal but then it is revealed that Annabeth was the one to stop him and that makes no sense. Annabeth is very smart but she is not magic, you can’t stop an attacking animal by petting it.
The second moment is when Percy figures out Chronos is the big bad. The moment seems innocent but it actually is stealing a chance to highlight Annabeth’s strength. They could have had Annabeth do the reveal and showcase her abilities.
Percy will have his chance to shine in the fights he doesn’t need to be the one to solve the mystery.
Best one yet in my opinion. I honestly thought we weren’t gonna get Crusty! So I didn’t mind that change and everything else was amazing! The underworld was different but I liked the change because it was creepier, which makes me so excited to see what they do with Labyrinth if we get season 4!
you going to interview walker next right ? he can talk about episode 8 please ):
Me in the first 5 episodes: "man, for 3 kids at the beginning of the quest they sure do immediately catch on…"
Me on episode 6: "ok there is usually too much telling instead of showing, but it makes sense now that they would catch this reference, but still have a twist.
Everyone else on episode 6: "Yeah, it's TOO MUCH Exposition!"
Percy, episode 7: "I know who you are… and these beds are a trap… "
I gotta say, I was quite disappointed with Hades! He is supposed to be the Big 3 and yet he did not feel like it. I dunno why they did not show his full height and I expected a bass-booming voice that would make them feel the jitters and where are the furies?? I am sorry the design of Underworld was great but it is disappointing how they did not show proper security in Hades's palace, the furies and honestly, he was not at all intimidating. I dunno I was really disappointed
The Underworld is not Hell. Hell is a Christian belief, not a Greek one. Hades is not the Devil, he is the God of the Underworld.
EPISODE 7 WAS SO GOOOOOOOD
A spin-off show about a field of people who don’t move or talk, sounds riveting
Hyades is cool 💯this is just a job for him in greek mythology and the underworld is like running a hotel chain
So funny that Julian Richings, the actor who played Crusty also played Charon in the Percy Jackson movie and also played Death in Supernatural
I was excited to see a 42 min runtime, but was disappointed to see that extra time went to Sally Jackson and the Trials of Boarding School featuring her no eye contact ex love. The acting takes they decided to keep throughout the episode also seemed flat. It would have been great to have a bigger moment with Hades, more action, and more backstory for Annabeth.
Just read the books. Clearly mentioned Care-on. Not Sharon!
I wonder if posidean will physically help percy fight or maybe just send his energy / vibes
We were not a big fan of this episode. This episode showcased everything that has been going wrong with this show. However, we did like the scenery ad Hades.
As someone whose seen Wizard of Oz too many times to count, "We're not in Kansas anymore" wouldn't apply as Dorothy's reality in Kansas was muted colors and the Land of Oz was vibrant.
I don’t think Zeus is aware of the other forbidden kids because Percy had to be claimed first before being accused by Zeus of stealing his bolt. Poseidon was staying away so that Zeus would not find out. I think Toby Stevens was correct – his and Sally’s connection in this moment is more spiritual than carnal.
The love is very palpable, though.
51:14 IIRC Sally’s a Seer, so she can see through the Mist. But I think that was revealed in a later book, so makes sense that he’d think that
ep. 7, especially toby and virginia's scene, was sooooo good. i was emotionally wrecked. like.. the body languages, the tones, the lines.. everything was very well delivered. hands down. it's soooo good. soooo heartbreaking. the child actor who played young percy also deserves the highest appreciation cz he also portrayed percy's vulnerability, including his cluelessness about feeling neglected, incredibly well. he surely can manage to make every person on the planet feeling very much empathetic towards him until they reach a point where they want to adopt him or something. he can make young percy's childhood looks even more and more heartbreaking. bravo! azriel dalman is such a very talented young actor. nicely done.
i said what i said.. THIS EPISODE WRECKED EMOTIONALLY. completely wrecked. good job.
HOW DID DIOR SING THAT SO SMOOTHLY WHATT
black sails mention!!!
