Revelations 1:18 to 20 – The keys of Hades and Thanatos – BRA-E0006-I



We saw earlier that Jesus sets out to guide his church, and tells John not to fear. But the son of man goes on to say, in revelations 1:18.
I am the first and the last, and the one who lives; I was dead, but behold, I am alive for ever and ever and I have the keys of death and hell.
The facts here clearly define that one is talking about Jesus, and that he died. And it clearly defines that it has the keys of death and hell.
In Greek we have the term Hades, and Thanatos. Defining the place, and the situation, that is Thanatos, is when he is dead, and Hades, is the place where he is when he dies.
In Ecclesiastes 12: 7 we can read.
and the dust will return to the earth, as it were, and the spirit will return to God, who gave it.
In this way the verse in revelations idealizes that Jesus makes the dust unite again to the spirit, and thus the man returns to be a living soul.
But if we continue to read in revelations 1, 19 and 20 we have.
