  1. Chronos needs less phase changes IMO, it feels so bad that he has so much to just stop you, which kind of makes sense wirh his theming of time, but I always feel like his fight drags on

  2. I know its one of your first runs of the patch and your opinion may have changed since, but Hestia new magick regen is insane with the right weapons imho. Daggers and Torches have really fast atk speed which makes the mana almost feel like infinite. You also have way to double your Attack or Spec, like Extra Dose from Apollo, the hammers for the Staff that gives double Spec or double attacks so it doubles the gains etc. In my torches run (Eos) i got only a common Hearth Gain and never upgraded it, and i didn't even feel like i had mana to manage lel.

Also Hestia is now probably one of the best God for torches runs imho.
Attack speed is fast so the Magick regen boon is insane, Special is a "passive" damage dealing move that can build up Scorch to thousands, the Fireball for Omega Special is really strong and give the button a nice projectile.. And its so fitting that Fire torches make use of Hestia the best ahah. Anyway i had a really basic run with Hestia, only Rare lv3 special, a common faster tick rate boon and the one that makes the first Scorch instance like 100.. and Scorch did like 50k damage even with this garbo setup lol. I think its definitly in the right place!

I also think Daggers are so easy to make use of the Demeter+Hestia duo : Scorch on attack with the fastest attack speed weapon + Demeter on special which we don't use on Meli Aspect + Aphro's cast, rush or mana regen to get Weak and enable the duo to make Scorch never run down. You get to insane levels of Scorch and if you don't chose the Boon that makes Scorch tick faster, its even better.. and when you want, you can just throw a random knife that will deal 200% of all your Scorch uhuh.

  3. Just played same run before watching your video, got three duos: +1 for keepsake, 4 infusions and hestia/demeter one. This run was such a damn breeze on 20 chaos, never felt easier on chronos fight (apart from zero chaos ofc). Hestia going hard now after all the "Oh no, not Hestia pls" (Infusion boon gonna get nerfed 4 sure)
P.S. Also got extremely lucky to get the chaos boon from keepsake that gives you more elements for infusions

  4. I made a Hestia / Zeus build with the Eos Torches, was insane !! I had the Thermal Dynamics duo – reaaaaaaally fun
*Your Blitz effects also inflict Sorch whenever they deal damage (80 scorch)

  5. I already liked Hestia & Scorch, but now it's even better.

Still wish they added more boons that had dash effects like Hades 1. As far as I know, Aphrodite is the only one with a boon that applies Weak with dash.

  6. Can’t express how much I appreciate that the titles and thumbnails aren’t littered with spoilers. Haven’t watched a video because I want to go in blind but I’m subbed so I see it all lol. Just a thank you for keeping it cool

  7. Is it just me or why is everyone bummed about hearth gain?? You’d basically have infinite magic with the torches cuz you’d get mana back on every hit of your specials. Seems way better in this scenario than Zeus’s magic regen

  8. I really really don't want them to make Chronos easier. They're already so many ways to nerf the fight yourself and he's the big baddie, it serves the narrative for him to not be a pushover.

  9. I don’t know how I managed to miss out on Hades II until now after watching it on my wishlist for so long lmfao, I swear I checked like a month ago and a release date still wasn’t announced

  10. I played a different variant of this using Mel's skull with the three Duos between Zeus, Hestia, and Demeter, and Blitz strike+arctic ring. Also happened to get the amazing Omega-Attack-pickup hammer alongside some additional Omega damage, but regardless the play pattern was basically the same:

Spamming attacks would apply, then proc Blitz, which in turn applied a ton of scorch (from the Zeus/Hestia duo + Hestia's Highly Flammamble for first time scorch application),
Would then run into the enemies, drop arctic ring to freeze (blowing up the applied scorch, applying hail storm thunderbolts) while picking up my skulls (thereby triggering yet more explosions, and more blitzes).

Would also work at point-blank once the gap was closed, just ludicrous damage.

I feel like the balance patch really made the duos synergize with each other better, on top of enhancing the identities of the gods.

  11. That's one of the first duos I wanted to try (well, I mostly was curious to see how scorch was buffed in general) and GODDAMN !
I had a similar idea as you to try it on the torches specials (except I went with Eos, for double specials bonanzas, and I also wanted to see how Eos's daybreaker was changed, and GODDAMN too ! It finally tracks enemies ! Instead of floating off to the vast void of space !)

Needless to say, I had a run almost as disgusting as yours (I didn't have Zeus, so no DemZeus duo, and I still have yet to try the Herastia duo, which looks disgusting !), but just DemHestia was more than enough to cheese the game at 20 fears !
    Certainly a pleasant surprise !

  12. Hearth Gain works really well with Moros torches, by using Omega special and then spamming normal attack into it. It also works pretty well with skulls, firing off your attacks and then using Omega special to mop up and collect your skulls. Either build is self-sustaining on magick.

  13. I think chronos' difficulty is fine. It took me losing to him about 6 times until i was able to beat him and since then ive been able to beat him more than half the time. If anything i think hades is too hard as the final boss. I could never consistently beat hades,

  14. Something I’ve noticed, which might be interesting to try (for science!)
    – Aphro’s magick regen – Now automatically apply weak to nearby enemies.
    – Aphro’s legendary – Now apply extra 3 (iirc?) random curses to enemies with weak?
    – Aphro-Pos Duo – All enemies are considered nearby

Will having these 3 boons automatically apply weak + 3 random curses to all enemies in the room? Idk if it’s busted, but sounds really fun tbh.

  16. I’m so glad Hestia and scorch got some love and reworking. I loved doing Dio hangover stuff in Hades 1 so I was excited for the scorch mechanic, but it felt so bad before this patch most of the time. This run makes it almost seem too strong, but you did get duos and stuff to make it kinda busted, too. On the topic of difficulty of the game overall, I will say that I feel like Chronos is way harder than Hades on your first few attempts, and that this game is significantly more difficult than Hades 1 starting out. I’m a semi-casual player. I don’t play at all during the week and then play a lot on weekends. Took me a while to get to Chronos for the first time, and then when I finally did, I barely made it. Then I died before I even knew what was happening. I wasn’t too upset about that, because final boss is final boss. I had a similar experience when I got to Hades the first time. Get better and I need more meta progression. I also didn’t watch any Hades 2 gameplay videos after early release until I got to Chronos because I didn’t want any story spoilers. It took me a lot longer in this game to get my first clear because it does seem a lot harder to scale your damage to the point of being somewhat viable than in Hades 1, which I’m fine with, and also not watching gameplay because of not wanting to have spoilers, which was my own choice. I did finally watch your “baby’s first Chronos” guide after dying to him a bunch of times because I got so sick of dying so fast and never got a chance to feel out the fight and learn the mechanics. I think my second or third attempt I got to phase 2 and instantly died and had no idea what was happening. Basically my first experiences with Chronos from the perspective of a casual were way more frustrating than with Hades and they could afford to dial him down just a little bit. I think they should make Cerberus a lot more difficult than he is. Took me a little while to beat the sirens for the first time, but then in the same run I steamrolled Cerberus first try. Maybe it was a combination of me getting better and having something viable going and understanding the new mechanics better after many failures in the spirit of the genre, but I do feel like Cerberus was too easy.

  17. On the difficulty of Chronos: I feel like his phase 2 feels more like an EM phase 3 difficulty – the area is small and his attack range is quite large, there isn’t much space to hide and a lot of stuff is happening.
I only beat him after watching your video, because I didn’t realize you had to dash over some stuff and that you had to stand in the ring because so much stuff was happening 😂 But ever since then I’ve beaten him multiple times, often with all 3 DD left.

  18. Hestia feels really good now. Just getting her cast + Demeter cyclone-on-cast feels crazy strong for how easy it is. Just drop the cast on them, they get Origination going instantly and start taking nice Scorch damage.

  19. Has anyone got hot flash duo with freezer burn?
If you use Hestia cast with this combo I think it will break the game but I havent managed to get them both.
Pash dash to activate hot flash and the cast scorch doesnt diminish when Demeters attack or special activates freezer burn. So the freezer burn numbers would go insane really quick (also possible that freezer burn just cancels out hot flash or you cant even get them both in a run)

  20. I tried aspect of eos with hestia and aphro duo boon, one of the most insane damage outputs I've had
Tho i think it might be bugged cause I didn't feel like the ticks killed the bosses or idk i might have missed
Either way, still an insane load out

  21. Probably too late for this to be seen, but Hestia attack has always been more damage than the special. All other gods it's the reverse. Probably an oversight, but it's survived multiple patches already

  22. Isn't Blood Line fine enough considering that it's just a standalone boon that may add some "free" damage to all your Omegas?
I mean, you did get it as an Epic, but it's not like you had to plan your build for it or anything.
5th most damage sounds pretty decent for that, IMO.
