  1. I was getting a little bit tired of lists on every youtube channel, so I found this new format to be something fresh to watch here on youtube, hope you keep it and thanks for the videos!

  2. The Arch linux base of the Steam Deck OS has me worried. Arch is notorious for pushing out updates with little to no testing and breaking things and I can't help but think Ubuntu would have been a better choice. Of course, if they adopt a Manjaro like experience with their own Valve controlled repository, my concerns could prove unwarranted.

  3. I understand the comparison to the Switch, but considering the Switch is now 5 years old it seems a bit unfair for the reviewers to imply the inputs are wanting compared to a product that was just released. It's like saying man, this brand new car sure drives better than the one I have been driving for 5 years…

  4. Where are you based GIG? I am in the UK I have put down a pre-order for the Deck. That Ascent stat is interesting. Lets say its $34.99 ($35). That $5M / $35 = 143K units. Not bad for a launch weekend. That tells me GamePass is not hurting sales. If anything once the game leaves GamePass games should expect a second bump as renters become buyers

  5. I'm not a huge fan of Razer making attempts to profit off of masks… Its a really stupid use of material that could be used to make something thats not a light up mask… However, stupid people love buying stupid stuff…

  6. Great vid as always GIG/Stew! Agree re ID@Xbox – today’s Nintendo Indie Showcase was proof of your criticism. Such a great show – so many great Indies, especially games finally coming to Switch that I’ve followed from GIG for years (don’t have a PC but all the current/next gen consoles). Eastward….finally… 😉 Pre-ordered and then bought Islanders and Garden Story (having followed through the channel). A big thanks for the Death’s Door stream – only caught the tail end but persuaded me to pick it up and have loved it! Keep well n safe GIG! 😉😘

  7. to be honest i don't understand why people had worries about the weight of the Steam Deck. how a device, or any object for that matter, would feel in the hands, is more dependent on how you hold it, what kind of grips it has and so on. not so much on the weight on itself.
think of it like that, a 2-3 kg, of a laptop is a heavy chunk and it's not that comfortable to hold even with 2 hands. but a dumbbell of 2-3 kg, you can comfortably hold in one hand and it does not feel that heavy. a 10kg bucket can be easily carried around, but a 10kg table not so much.

so yeah, the deck is almost twice as heavy as the switch, but the switch is basically a plain slate, it does not have any grip to hold it. that's what makes it more uncomfortable for longer period of times. you can more easily feel its weight because you basically don't hold it correctly. that's why if you buy a grip accessory for it, suddenly it's far more comfortable, although i imagine some of those grips can easily add more than 100g of weight to it.
the deck already has those. it's wider, and have good grips, so it's natural to be comfortable. i honestly never thought it would feel too heavy. i would say even if it was 0.8kg it would still be fairly ok to hold.
