The abduction of Persephone by Hades



One of the most famous love story that exists in the literary world the legend, – “ The abduction of Persephone by Hades”. The reason of this that, it won all people’s hearts by displaying wise and loyal relationship between beloved ones. This great love story began when Persephone was gathering flowers and Hades saw her. By seeing her beauty and kindness he immediately fall in love with her. Hades decided to kidnap her, because he had not seen another way to being with her. The consequences of this event was that Demeter, mother of Persephone became angry and her furious caused a lot of problems. When Zeus found out about issues that Demeter’s anger brought, he asked Hades to free his daughter. During this time Persephone was felling in love with Hades but at the same time she was missing her mother. The intervention of Zeus led to the fact that Hades was forced to let Persephone go. The usage of slyness helped Hades not lose his love. The trick was that he gave Persephone 6 pomegranates to eat, which meant that she can not leave the Underworld once and for all. Zeus and others decided to solve this problem by letting Persephone be with Hades and Demeter at the same time. That led to Persephone spent 6 months next to her mother in the world of the living, and the other 6 with Hades in the Underworld. . The changing of Demeter’s mood showed the changing of the seasons. When Persephone was with her mother Demeter, the Earth was starting to flourish, but when Persephone went to Hades all living things began to die.
