Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

BATTLE OUT OF HELL
As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

UNLEASH THE FURY OF OLYMPUS
The Olympians have your back! Meet Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and many more, and choose from their dozens of powerful Boons that enhance your abilities. There are thousands of viable character builds to discover as you go.

BEFRIEND GODS, GHOSTS, AND MONSTERS
A fully-voiced cast of colorful, larger-than-life characters is waiting to meet you! Grow your relationships with them, and experience thousands of unique story events as you learn about what’s really at stake for this big, dysfunctional family.

BUILT FOR REPLAYABILITY
New surprises await each time you delve into the ever-shifting Underworld, whose guardian bosses will remember you. Use the powerful Mirror of Night to grow permanently stronger, and give yourself a leg up the next time you run away from home.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE
Permanent upgrades mean you don’t have to be a god yourself to experience the exciting combat and gripping story. Though, if you happen to be one, crank up the challenge and get ready for some white-knuckle action that will put your well-practiced skills to the test.

SIGNATURE SUPERGIANT STYLE
The rich, atmospheric presentation and unique melding of gameplay and narrative that’s been core to Supergiant’s games is here in full force: spectacular hand-painted environments and a blood-pumping original score bring the Underworld to life.

  1. I can understand being confused by the heat gauge. It's normally something unlocked later in the story during a normal playthrough, but it's unlocked right away for you because you're on Hell mode.

The heat gauge normally starts empty. If you get through the underworld with a certain weapon, you get a bonus reward. If you then repeat the process with the same weapon with an empty heat gauge, you don't get a bonus. However, if you add conditions to maximize the heat gauge, you get a bonus reward again. It's meant to increase the challenge for each successful escape, and to make it so you can't repeat the same easy escape over and over again to farm the big rewards. The number of conditions you need to apply to fill the heat gauge will increase each time. Once the heat gauge is full, you don't get any more of a bonus from adding more conditions, which is what the game is warning you about.

Since you're on Hell mode, the gauge starts full with 5 levels of conditions applied by default. Those 5 conditions are the ones that have numbers next to them that are not 0, meaning they're making your runs more challenging than normal. Once you've successfully gotten through the underworld, the heat gauge will no longer be full for that weapon, and you'll need to add more conditions to fill it again if you want the bonus rewards. It's entirely optional to keep filling the heat gauge to get those rewards, but there is some incentive to get them since they can be rare.

  2. You probably would've defeated Meg first try if you remembered the deflect special sooner, but a solid attempt nonetheless.
Each boss gives you a reward once you defeat them, so you'll get a reward if you defeat a boss:
    – with the sword at heat 5, heat 6, heat 7 and so on.
    – with the bow at heat 5, heat 6, heat 7 and so on.

So each heat level gives you six rewards per boss (one for each weapon). Now, if you defeat the same boss with the same weapon and the same heat, you'll get a generic reward instead.

  3. It's interesting how our skill/focus goes up when health is a resource/parameter (it affects the probably of success of the run), low health almost flawless gameplay, high health – ah, it's ok to take couple of hit, from 50 to 40, to even 30, it's fine.

Also, always disliked the game mechanic of boss summoning minions into the fight. If it's a boss in the 1 character single player experience let me square it 1v1, make the boss appropriately strong if need be, don't compensate with waves of summoned minions. Don't hate it really, mane games do, just don't like it very much. If it's a party rpg game, party of 6, or 4, I'm down for some group fight, feels approriate in-game, but not for solo-runs, roguelike or not.
