  1. I only just beat Chronos and the other boss two days ago. Movement was so important, but also, I had to learn their moves like crazy. I sometimes turned my brain off to fight, but this game makes you learn every aspect of the fight.

  2. Also, especially if you're coming from Hades 1, use your cast. Even if you're on twin blades or axe, it's a useful tool to give breathing room while magic regens or Hephy cooldowns tick.

And if you're on one of the ranged weapons, it's your most important zoning ability. It still slows his standard movement and it makes his slash-dash a joke.

    Play lame, win games.

  3. Honestly I've played enough roguelikes I've gotten down his pattern after 4 or so tries. I think the game is incredible. Just keep grinding, the best way to get better at these kind if games is to start trying to teach yourself to reflexively dodge using your peripheral vision while watching bullets.

  4. another lesson:

Artemis daggers are utter horseshit, fully blocks the damage of his 1 hit kills in order to buff yourself? on the best weapon in the game already? go fuck em up.

  5. This makes me sad to hear. I liked Hades 1 because I knew I could eventually win with incremental bonuses coupled with skill gain and game knowledge. Knowing that Chronos is just BS will remove Hades 2 from my wishlist.

  6. I plan on making a Moonaxe build where I get every apollo and hermes buff I can but I only need one buff from Hephaestus. I plan on making my build truly the Gauss experience, send Chronos back to the depths of the Underworld with same day shipping

  7. Eventually Chronos becomes manageable. I can beat him with no Fear and no Death Defiance now, but it took A LOT of getting my ass kicked first. Definitely much harder than the first game, though.

  8. THIS. The only time I’ve beaten Chronos is with the daggers doing insane dps with insane dodge chance and massive movement speed buffs. And even then the final phase nearly knocked me flat on my ass, took my death defiance with that massive blast wave attack

  9. Biggest tip that might be throwing off players: Chronos is not slowed down by most effects. He's the titan of time, so he doesn't care if you slowed things down to cast a spell, he's rushing you down all the same (unless he gets a little chilly from frost effects, those do slow him)

  10. Just use the Apollo boon on the axe and max out your attack asap, and get good at using your shield special and practice dashing between attack animations to change your position without withholding attacks or failing to progress in your attack combo. Oh and grab the well hex for healing if you're bad and max it's healing fast

  11. Pro tip, gamers: If you wanna burn through magic like the Chicago Bulls, the Boon you are looking for is “Born Gain” from Hera. It’s infinite mana with a downside that you have every tool needed to easily make negligible. I don’t know why the Queen subscribes to the Golgari school of tax fraud, but I’m here for it.

  12. I mean you could also get the Demeter infusion with 6 Earth element, that makes it so you can't take more than 15 damage from any single hit

With that it's pretty doable to win with like 200 health, you can take 13 hits before you die assuming every hit is dealing 15 damage

Also remember to use your damn cast, it's a lot easier to kill grandpa when you strap cement shoes to him

  13. The one thing I love about Chronos is the fact that instead of poopsocking a game, YOU'RE the one getting poopsocked.

By this I mean, you're not allowed to pause while fighting him. If you have to get up to do something else, and you pause thinking that's something you're allowed to do, you're going to come back to the game unpaused, and you will most likely be dead

  14. Additional notes: if you’re like me and you got better at games between hades 1 and 2 you’re probably like; “I’m not gonna do the cheap stuff or the gimmicky stuff!”

Nah fuck that, Demeter been saying these hands rated T for Thee. They came to scrap, she came to give you buffs that remind you why ain’t nobody confronted her face to face about SHIT 😂

  15. My first victory, I did actually get tanky enough for him… 4 death defiance and the boon that reduces max damage you can take to 15, then lots of health ups

  16. Something I think that’s helped a lot with my completed runs was the Hermes boon that slows projectiles down, as (for whatever reason) it slows down all of his attacks in general. Also, burst damage is just insanely useful.

  17. Ever heard of Phenix Skin ? It's a nice little duo boon between Apolli and Hestia that removes 100 max HP but gives you a permanent HP regen without cap. Pair that with a little bit of stall, and you cannot die.
