Considering Buff's nickname; Gods that usher souls into the Underworld are a thing, and they are known as "Psychopomps". The God in Greek Mythology fulfilling this role (occasionally subbed out by Hermes) was called Thanatos (the god, and personification, of Death). I think Thanatos, or maybe just Psychopomp, would be a great name for Buff. 🙂
