I loved how he was portrayed in the books the first time I read them. He was imponent and powerfull yet somewhat sad at the sime time. Dude got the short end of the stick out of the three brothers when it came to his domain, always surrounded by depressed, angry or crazy souls every single day, and yet people still manage to blame him for the bad things that happen. I always felt simpathy for Hades everytime he showed up
Percy Jackson is my favourite book series of all time. It tried to censor as little as possible while still appealing to younger audiences. Let's hope the show is good because this story deserves to be told correctly.
It always frustrated me how pop culture portrates Hades as the villain and every other olympian as a heroic figure, while in mythology its the complete opposite. Until recently i found out about a book trilogy called The Ruined Gods by Alex Robins, where it does justice to the character (and shows some other olympians as the true trash they are). I highly recomend it, as not only it does justice to one of the most misanderstud mythological figures, it also has amaizing plot twists and the writer understands uses respectfully the ancient greek language in his work.
Hades was pretty chill in myth. He helped more mortals and heroes than he screwed over. The ones he really let out his rage on were trying to kidnap his wife.
Honest while I liked Rick Riordan's depiction of Hades and Loki, I was personally really peeved by how he chose to portray a certain 'evil' Egyptian God. He really Royally screwed Over Set in his 'Red Pyramid' novel despite Rick Riordan admitting in-book and in-person that Isis and Osiris had schemed against the throne of Ra, Isis using poison against said King pulling out his True Name as Ransom to get her Husband on the Throne. Meanwhile Set the guy Rick and some myths claim was born-evil was defending Ra non-stop against the forces of darkness and Chaos. With that in-mind it seems reasonable that Set would be pissed at his brother but he was just written as a horrifying disgusting satanic monster. Ironic thing is there's actually a obscure story were Isis disguising herself as a beautiful widow tricking Set with her beauty bringing out his sensitive-side with a story about her son with stolen-cattle. Set was going to make that child his 'heir to the gods' and was actually crying before the gods when telling the story. That's quite a contrast to Isis 'fake-crying' about Ra isn't it? (I hate that Set's only interaction with his son Anubis in-books was him telling his father to 'shut-up' right after he Rooted for his kid during the climatic battle. Set raised him according to Pre-Osiris mythology.)
In one Greek mythology show, “Class of the Titans”, Hades wasn’t the main villain and was even on the main characters’ side. Instead, the show had Cronus be the main bad villain of the show.
What's the best portrayal of Hades you've seen? 👀
Hades is my favorite Greek god and I love the Percy Jackson book series

Man I just knew you were gonna say Percy Jackson, one of the only book series I could read without getting bored ❤
I hope the new Disney+ series will do justice to the source material.

In Record of Ragnarok Hades doesn't try to dethrone Zeus he's instead a butler 😂

LOL

Jim Butcher, the Dresden series. I believe it's the 14th book "Skin Game". Dresden has a conversation and is treated with kindness by Hades
Actually, "Xena, Warrior Princess" had some pretty accurate portrayals of Hades!
It's easy to make the god of the dead a villain if looking from the black and white narrative of heaven and hell but it's the opposite
Hades is more mature and just while Zeus is immature and petty
I see that clip feom the Percy Jackson movie and now think "Pre-Ahsoka!".
Hades is one of my Favorite Shinigami’s in Mythology
What happened to Persephone in the books?
That is so true. So far the Percy Jackson book series have the best portrayal of Hades. Seriously, the whole 'Hades is evil' thing needs to stop.
FACTSSSSS Jon!!! I loved this version of Hades

Hades was the first born anyways. It’s his birthright. He just doesn’t want it
Hades. Just be glad my wife is visiting her mother.
THANK YOU! Spot on, Solo…Carry On…💚☘️🎄
I just got done listening to The Sandman audiobooks and Hades was in one of the chapters and he was written in a good way.
Hades is that guy who’s extremely good at his and is extremely tired
I didn't read the Percy Jackson books, but now I want to.
Hollywood: so hes greek satan right?
the entire fandom: NO!
Riordan wrote a pretty good interpretation of Hades, but you should also check out the version written by Jim Butcher in The Dresden Files.
Hades isn't the god of the dead.
Thanatos is the Greek god of the dead.
He is the god of the underworld.
He don't run the business.
He is the owner and landlord 😂
Jon, still waiting on the sea of monsters video… I absolutely loved the first video.
NO. Best portrayal of Hades is from Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden series. READ IT and you will believe me on this!
I love his portrayal in Hadestown. Such a great musical.
Plus in the series he was the only one of the big three to keep his promise about gathering no more demigod children
