A rock/metal cover of ‘The Painful Way’ from the video game Hades.
I’ve been meaning to give Hades a try for a while now, but I have mixed feelings when it comes to roguelike games but I’ve always known it had amazing music. I was finally convinced to give this game ago, and it is definitely an awesome game!
The most difficult part of this arrangement was to keep it interesting add in my own style, while also keeping the original style, as the original is also pretty heavy. With the acoustic section, I tried to keep the same vibe as the original with my own little spin on it, and with the heavier section, I tried to bring out more progressive influences, with the time signatures, and some polymeter action going on! This one was much harder to mix than usual, so I hope my efforts paid off and you enjoy the cover!
And special thanks to Noble, not just for the solid bass playing as usual, but also for the balalaika we can now use!

Escellent stuff! Had huge DT vibes throughout haha. Especially the very beginning reminded me of Home. Those proggy rhythms in the heavier part are killer!
That's some good work 🙂
Hades' OST is the progressive metal album we needed lmao
