The Wroth of Hades

In this tale Hades comes to challenge Zeus – over an issue happening amongst their godly family but also interfering in the mortal realm… and he is serious. It shall be continued in the next episode!

Living Mythology is an attempt to entertain, relax and educate all in the one place. We are trying to forge narratives so that people can experience the religions and mythologies of the world as they were meant to be. Not as dry academic monoliths, but as living breathing tales and parables as experienced by the peoples who worshipped these beings, in an attempt to make sense of their own lives and the world around them.

This channel is in its infancy, so we hope to improve and develop it as we gain more experience.

All of the tales are taken from very conflicting traditions across many centuries, so there will be many a moment when decisions need to be made to create a more cohesive narrative. If we present something that seems to be in contrast to details, rest assured we have researched many forms of the traditions and come to the conclusions we have done to form the videos.
There will NEVER be total agreement on any of these narratives due to the history and differing ways they developed over the centuries.
These videos are for entertainment and an easy gateway to the subject. If you wish more academic details then please direct your attention to the wide source material and others who perform those types of academic video essays.

  1. On the one hand Hades brings forward an excellant point in that Zeus is derelict in his duties as King if outright thieving of, what are effectivly Hade's own subjects from his realm right under his nose. I do find the derision and contempt of healing to be odd. Healing only ever delays never denies Hades his due.

Him rolling out with basically everyone in his court plus two primordials?

I'm… entirely certain had Zeus answered diffrently or Hades not believed him, he wanted to make sure Zeus wasn't going to walk away.

  2. An interesting prelude to the myth of Asclepius. A first glimpse to the anger of Hades and the impact of those that try to cheat death. Is resurrection such a transgression? Or do those that seek to escape death seek to escape judgement instead? Does death itself give greater meaning and purpose to life? The next part of this story going to be very interesting indeed. Great work! I always love seeing a more in-depth and character driven telling of the old myths from the perspective of those in it.

  4. Is it surprising that the first thing Hera asks is "what did you do?" Which implies any mess of that magnitude is because someone did something stupid…grand and brilliant video…I love this channel so much hoping for more

  5. Love listening to your narrative stories. But I noticed a mistake. Before in the battle of the titan's you said (can't spell his name king of the sea) was the oldest.
