According to a post on Supergiant’s website, the character you play in the game, Melinoë, the immortal Princess of the Underworld, is the sister of Zagreus, protagonist of the original Hades. The post describes the game as being “rooted in the Underworld of Greek myth and its deep connections to the dawn of witchcraft.” You’ll explore a “bigger, deeper mythic world,” wiping out Chronos’ cronies all in a bid to take the time-bending bastard down for good.
The game’s Steam page has other details, saying you’ll be equipped with the “legendary weapons of Night,” which can be infused with ancient magic for some extra punch if you need it, and that you’ll encounter other Greek gods like Apollo and Zeus that will bless you during your journey. Very much in line with Hades.
Hades II is a sequel game to Hades currently in development by Supergiant Games. The main playable character will be Melinoë, immortal Princess of the Underworld, daughter of Hades and sister of Zagreus.
Hades II is a rogue-like dungeon crawler in which you’ll battle beyond the Underworld of Greek myth using dark sorcery to take on the sinister Titan of Time. Plot
The game will take place sometime after the events of the first game. The main antagonist of the game will be Chronos, the Titan of Time who has escaped his imprisonment in the Underworld, captured Hades and began to wage war against Olympus. With the aid of Olympus, Melinoë, Princess of the Underworld and daughter of Hades must enter the Underworld to defeat Chronos and his forces.
