NGL this game has the most beautiful sewer levels that I've ever seen…
So glad you figured out how the tree (bough) mechanic in the field works towards the end
You can check whether you've gifted someone before through the Book of Shadows (it's the little green book that pops up periodically when you finish a room as it also contains all the info on the game monsters and that gets updated from time to time. It popped up right after you beat the Tartarus mini boss, before gifting Haephestus here). However, it doesn't show you relationship status right away there, you need to get a cauldron upgrade for the book first and then it'll allow you to see your relationship level with the npcs
Btw, thank you for playing this and I hope you'll stick with it for a while! I won't be able to play it myself for quite a bit as it's making my wrist pain flare up so I'll have to live vicariously through you 😂
