  1. That Wolf combo seems to be a big key in winning with free extra damage. And man Hectae looks so good, probably my second favourite model next to Selene.

  2. Re. Hecate's mask, I think it's implied by one of her remarks that Mel's green arm is from too many incantations. Given that Hecate herself has two claw arms, it's not unreasonable to suppose that too much magic has warped her own appearance a little, giving her glowy green eyes etc. I haven't seen this confirmed by any dialogue though.

  3. Congrats on beating the hell out of Eris! I like Sister Blades a lot, but agree that Moonstone Axe is the greatest weapon damage wise. You still haven't met few characters on the surface, but they're rarily appear, so not big deal if you meet them in the full release of the game. Heat stuff is difficult to go through (even if it needed to get some useful materials), so it also fine if you prefer to skip it until much later. Overall very impressive run so far, defeating both Chronos and Eris in quite short time.

  4. Pretty sure the locked hearts means that you need to fulfill some story conditions before that heart becomes available through gifting. In most cases it probably means just do more runs.

  5. Heh, looks like Eris actually did something useful for once. She got Nem to genuinely compliment Mel.

Heracles isn't Hera's son. He is the son of Zeus and a mortal woman named Alcmene. He was named "Heracles," meaning "Glory of Hera" in an attempt to appease her, but it didn't work. She served as his divine obstacle his entire life. Getting him to kill his wife and kids and forcing him into servitude for the king Eurystheus as penance, where he underwent his famous 10 (actually 12) labors.
Which is also probably why he responds with "She's aiding *you?*" when picking up the Hera boon in front of him. Clearly upset that Hera offers patronage to Mel, but obstacles to him. Which, fair.

Heracles is also just a walking exception. That thing about "the rules of death don't quite apply" is because he is one of the only Greek heroes to walk into the underworld and back out successfully. And he's definitely the only one to have gone as deep as he did, as loudly as he did, and still come out. He fought Hades himself, abducted Cerberus, and it barely even slowed his roll.
Though, interestingly enough, Odysseus is also one of the few heroes to enter and exit the underworld. Although he only skirted the edges. Deep enough to have a chat with his fallen comrades, but shallow enough that he was still able to sail out with relative ease.
I honestly still can't tell if Heracles is mortal or not in this game. Odysseus does call him half man, half god, but he did apparently die in the game. Again, a walking exception to every rule.

  6. It's very funny to me that you got the Charybdis fight every time you went to the surface, and I have done probably 3x more surface runs than you, and I've encountered it maybe… twice, lmao. Same with meeting Heracles.
But then again, there are some surface encounters you haven't seen yet, that I've gotten almost every run. I hope the rates get rebalanced a bit better before the full release, lol

  7. Born Gain isnt as good as patch 2 but it's still very good. All they did was increase the magic primed so now you have to make sure you have a decent amount of magic to run it which isn't the worst thing in the world.

They also buffed/reworked most of the other gods magic gain boons so you don't feel like crap taking Zeus' ionic gain anymore.
