► Hades 1.0 Full Release Story Synopsis

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

  1. I love how Welonz basically treats Heat like when Goku was going to Namek and the artificial gravity broke:
"I've experienced 21 Heat, so now I need to play at at least 21 Heat!"

  2. Congrats on the 26 heat clear!!
One thing you can try if you want to add more heat is doing full lasting consequences and then using stubborn defiance for healing. I got my first 32 heat win using this. This is kind of risky but you should be able to beat normal hades on 32 heat especially if you equip lucky tooth for hades. Might want to try this setup on lower heat first though.

  3. That was super impressive Welonz! Keeping all of the defiances till Hades and that final fight despite the tight deadline was great.

I kind of agree with the problems of the rail re:crowd control. It does have tools, like the special that are excellent for it, but damage control + everyone being faster does go against it. Though Attack + Zeus would probably be great with that.

Nice to see Pom Keepsake being upgraded. A free pom every four encounters is great and you can end up with some good high leveled poms, which is great for DPS (and sometimes defense)

  4. Your continued refusal to take the Crystal Beam is actually locking you out of a huge pile of Duo Boons. I'm pretty sure the only remaining Duo Boons for Demeter at this point are Crystal Beam-related ones at this point.

  5. I was one of the people who tried to convince you to take Athena's Call more often, so I feel a little bad to reiterate that it's probably only good if you already have a high-damage build (in which case, you can do more damage with Athena's fully-charged Call compared to Ares' or Poseidon's). But if you need to squeeze out more damage, you probably would have been better with Aphrodite's Epic Call this run. ;P

    Still, great job!

  6. Desperate times call for desperate measures! Your last-seconds run against time was enthralling! And now we know what happens when tight deadline runs out.

  7. I actually find myself hoping you'll lose a death defiance, just to make things more challenging/interesting! During the tiny vermin fight, I realized it just wasn't going to happen today. I do wish the game was less lenient about granting you additional life at this point (because you don't need it!). Great series. …surprisingly just a little closer than I thought while typing the above, heh

  8. I think the skinny chap Hermes is talking about is Sisyphus. Which hilariously implies that eternally pushing Bouldy up a hill for who knows how long has really bulked him up.
