Hades is a roguelike action role-playing video game developed and published by Supergiant Games. It was released for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Nintendo Switch on September 17, 2020, which followed an early access release from December 2018.

Players control Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he attempts to escape from Underworld to reach Mount Olympus, at times aided by gifts bestowed on him from the other Olympians. Each run challenges the player through a random series of rooms populated with enemies and rewards. The game has a hack and slash combat system; the player uses a combination of their main weapon attack, dash power, and magic ability to defeat them while avoiding damage to progress as far as possible. While Zagreus will often die, the player can use gained treasure to improve certain attributes or unlock new weapons and abilities to improve chances of escaping on subsequent runs.

  1. Hey, great job on managing to reach Theseus, and very glad you managed to reach phase 2 as well, since it means I don't need to dance around not revealing that.

Phase 2 Theseus has ALWAYS been the thing I was talking about when I've been saying 'sometimes you want a greater call to just minimize the time something exists'.

Both Theseus and Asterius have 2 phases, both triggered at half health. Theseus begins his phase 2 with his big call thing, since he's very dramatic. Pro tip: he stands still and drops his shield while he's doing that, so it's a GREAT time to smack him with damage spikes.

In terms of strategy, I'd say probably try to focus one, then the other. Once that fight is down to 1 opponent, it becomes much more manageable. I usually do Theseus 2nd, so I'm more likely to have greater call ready, but it's up to you.

While I think Artemis call is probably the best for spike damage, you should learn all the others as well. Not all are designed around spike damage. Usually though, they can do enough damage to hurt at least 1 enemy. I frequently use them in Elysium to clean up ghosts before they respawn, since they're usually 'do a little more to this enemy please'.

A minor note is just a reminder about how armor works. If an enemy has even 1 armor point, it can take an entire hit without affecting their health bar. This can hurt higher spike damage stuff. Overall not super important, but good to know.

You did make the correct decision each time in regard to this next tip, but had forgotten something. Due to a mirror perk, when you get darkness, you also get a heal!

The big reason you're getting so much more darkness now is because you get significant darkness rewards after clearing bosses now, rather than titan blood / diamonds (and eventually that mystery thing you'll get from Asterius and Theseus). First time you clear with each weapon, you get the special resource, 2nd and up, you get darkness in decent amounts. Don't worry, you do get a way to get the special rewards again, I believe it unlocks after 1 successful run? For the record, I very much agree with saving for more death defies. They're absolutely what made me start having successful runs.
