LYRICS:
Poseidon, Poseidon, Poseidon, Poseidon
Poseidon, Poseidon, Poseidon, Poseidon
In all my years of living
It isn’t very often that I get pissed off
I try to chill with the waves
But damn, you crossed the line
I’ve been so gracious
And yet, you hurt this son of mine
That’s right, the cyclops you made blind, is mine
No
I’m left without a choice and without a doubt
Guess the pack of wolves is swimming with the shark now
I’ve gotta make you bleed, I need to see you drown
But before you go, I need to make you learn how
Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves
(Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves)
Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves
Ourselves
You are the worst kind of good ’cause you’re not even great
A Greek who reeks of false righteousness, that’s what I hate
‘Cause you fight to save lives, but won’t kill and don’t get the job done
I mean, you totally could have avoided all this had you just killed my son
But no
You are far too nice, mercy has a price
It’s the final crack, we’re bound to break the ice now
You reveal your name, then you let him live
Unlike you, I’ve got no mercy left to give ’cause
Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves
(Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves)
Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves
Ourselves
And now it is finally time to say goodbye, today you die
Unless, of course, you apologize
For my son’s pain and all his cries
Poseidon, we meant no harm
We only hurt him to disarm him
We took no pleasure in his pain
We only wanted to escape
The line between naïveté and hopefulness is almost invisible
So close your heart, the world is dark and
Ruthlessness is mercy
Die
Ruthlessness is mercy upon our- (Captain, Captain)
Ruthlessness is mercy upon our- (Captain, Captain)
Ruthlessness is mercy upon our- (Captain, Captain)
Ruthlessness is –
What have you done?
When does a ripple become a tidal wave?
43 left under your command
When does man become a monster?
I am your darkest moment
The monster that always draws near
Any last words?
All I gotta do is open this bag
What?
Remember me

Is this why people are spamming "wet hades" on my animatic?
24:07 No! Polyphemus killed 6 people. Each boat has 50 guys, and Odysseus' boat lost 6 (44 left, Ody included). That's why Poseidon says "43 left under your command"
I like the background sound of waves crashing to shore when you're focussed on Poseidons face
Im not sure if this is confirmed or not but we all know that Athena was present during this song through the piano. It might be possible that at 15:26 the piano would be Athena's way of "I told you so", and the string instrument at 15:34 is Odysseus slowly realizing her point since it almost replicates the piano run.
Poseidon was never my favorite god when I was diving into mythology, but damn he knows how to make an entrance.
Idk if I am wrong, but I can hear Violin 🎻 in the background of the song 🎵
The funniest thing about this thing about "Wet Hades" is that in greek myth origins, he's quite technically Wet Hades, or rather, Hades is just Dry Poseidon. Because Persephone/Kore was actually Queen of the Underworld before the concept of Hades was a thing and that Underworld was within Poseidon's domain I think either in Mycenean age or around during greek dark ages, dunno which one. But yeah, Wet Hades – mythologically accurate nickname for Poseidon 😂
If you listen closly during Oddyseus "Apology" you can hear a dark choir like a bass choir or a tenor choir, what if that is poseidon's instrument, the sea is the choir always by Poseidon's side
27:48 haven’t finished the video yet so you might’ve already said this, but It took me way too long to realize that this was a changing the lyrics of Keep Your Friends Close (“All you gotta do is not open this bag”) to (“All I gotta do is open this bag). No wonder the key change was so wild
I'm going to be honest if a God Like Poseidon gave me a chance to apologize for hurting his son I would be on my knees groveling I would not be giving an excuse
0:35 Actually not the act 1 finale, “Monster” in the underworld saga is. Ruthlessness was just the finale of the Ocean saga.
Does Casper actually say "wet Hades"? Cause I have rewatched this several times and I don't hear it. Or is it that he thinks Hades will show up during the OCEAN saga?
Also- 11:20 pack of wolves are a threat to sheep, like- Polyphemus’ sheep?
Just want to say- cause it kills me- right before Ruthlessness- Odysseus had been awake for NINE DAYS and had only slept a little during the end of the last song- just- this poor man
I thought it said "The backup forces are swiming with the sharks now" but that makes sense too.
What's actually really fun about ct thinking this was going to be hades is that in the "old greeks" hades didnt really exist and posiden actually filled the role of god of the dead so he's not even all that wrong which i find very fun especially with how jores portrays posiden since he sounds a lot more like a god of the dead which is very fun
I thought it might be interesting to know that, as far as we know, before the ancient Greeks, a Poseidon/Poseidon Equivalent was worshipped as the God of the Underworld rather than Hades. Hades didn't exist pre Ancient Greek.
Almost every Greek God has an older counterpart with a similar name. Hades doesn't have one, in that one, Poseidon was the God of Death and the King of the Gods cause older religions feared and respected the concept of death more.
This probably translated into how angry Classic Poseidon is, also he is the god of earthquakes for some reason. Water, horses and earthquakes (on that note, I'm not sure if this is the animatic you didn't watch but were gonna, Poseidon is represented as a huge horse in one really cool animatic).
Is it just me, or is Poseidon's backup singers the cyclopses?
I’m not sure if you guys noticed this or not, but in the part where Poseidon says “ Ruthlessness is” and then he trails off, to me it sounds like he turned around, looked away from Odysseus and then when he turned back, he saw Odysseus do something that made him so mad to the point where he just started killing everyone. I don’t know if that’s like something that everyone’s noticed or not but that’s just my observation.
Love this, also love the call out for that non apology XD
