  1. Yeah where I'm at in the game I don't have champions and/or solid enough gear to form a strategy. During the Dragon tournament I got a lot of good gear. But I'm trying to get a good life steal shield for my Rathalos so I don't have to remove my crit rate set weapon. Giving Rathalos life steal gear as good as I got may let me 3 star brutal and nightmare campaign. Rathalos keeps on dying on me at the end of every stage starting from the Hallowed Halls in Brutal. I managed to 3 star chapter 10 only because I had Fortress Goon. However it doesn't have enough gear with attack %, defense %, and crit rate so he's a good tank but his damage is cheeks. My plan for Fortress goon is to get his defense and support tree and to get that one mastery in the support tree that increases 15% gear bonuses by another 15% as substitute for the offense tree so I can make him tankier. His attacks scale off of both attack and defense so I think he maybe one of only a few rares that could be meta viable and I think he could serve me well as a replacement for a lot of epics, legendaries and a few of the more lack luster mythics. Some of the mythics I read when looking at the index had attacks that didn't feel that special and it felt like it belonged to a less interesting legendary or a solid epic champion.

  2. Thanks for the vid. I'm not touching either dungeons just yet – though I probably should – and I'm very glad we're getting the pots in Sintranos. I'm trying to just upgrade the really good gear too, of which I unfortunately don't have that much. Also why gear dungeons are still a big focus for me.

  3. Personally for your average player/account/f2p, you don't need to worry about it. They haven't added any PVE content in the game that requires you to have ascended gear. I thought when they first released those dungeons it was going to be for some crazy new Nightmare mode PVE stuff they had in mind, but it's never come to fruition. Most of the ascension is useful for the top 1% end game players who want the boosted stats for Platinum arena. While it's certainly nice to have boosted stats for clan boss, hydra, etc. I've found that as a long time player, been level 100 account for a long time now, former CC, have done everything in the game, most people don't need to even worry about these dungeons and should instead focus on account progression in other areas. Just running Cursed City now you get plenty of oils to mess around with if you want to. If you have the champs from some of the guides to speed run Shogun and Sand Devil etc. you might benefit from running it now and then, but absolutely unnecessary unless you're one of those top end 1% players. Most would be better off getting together speed teams to run the hard mode dungeons to get mythic gear drops vs. the oils.

  4. I am 14 months (3+ years into total playing) into my main account and I have never fought a single battle against the shogun. I get enough pots from other sources that if I get the 'perfect' piece I can take it to 1 star ascended. I do a little bit of farming of Sand Devil mainly just level 7 as you can blitz the turn attack really quickly.

I don't think that I will ever need to do it unless they introduce PvE content that requires the extra stats. Quite honestly at that point I will decide if I want the extra strain of that content. It would have to compelling and not just a stat bloat hamster wheel.

  5. I think there are a couple moments for an early game account when making the best gear on your best champions a little bit better is worth it: A good example is when you are on the cusp of NM 1key and UNM 3key. If 4% extra crit damage on 2 champs or a bit more survivability on them all gets you there, then it's easily worth a few hundred energy (or a few thousand because clan boss is so important). If you spend a few hundred lesser oils to get a 6* speed boot set ascended to speed and put that on your arena speed lead, that is worth it for any 3month to 1-year old account. A couple other spots to use oils: breaking into Iron Twins 15, breaking into a Sand Devil 25 solo farm. Maybe also for solo dungeon farmers which are so valuable for a early/mid F2P account.
