  1. 1) Hera cast can be great when you combine it with another secondary cast effect, or with the inflict hitch on incoming enemies then explosion on hitched enemy death. Everything dies the moment a bunch of things spawn in the room!
    2) Pylons on the surface release shades that attack your enemies. Try to always break them mid-combat otherwise you'd be skipping tons of free damage
    3) Surface hub rooms can have side rooms inside them. They'll begin after you've done a few runs, and each can contain things like centaur hearts inside them, above and beyond the main room reward

    Also tips for Eris:
    1) Soot Sprint is the best boon against her. Had you taken it in the shop the floor before the fight, you would've destroyed most of her bullets every time you sprinted 🙈
    2) Certain weapons can shine against her. Cast affects her turning time, so when she's held in a cast and you use daggers to teleport behind her it's much easier, or if you use axe and hold special then you can block every single projectile she fires. I'd recommend those instead of staff or torches

  2. 12:55 In city of Ephyra, the goals is to freed all the shades that trapped inside the cube thing(?) and all of the shades can help you kill the enemies faster. Possibly hinting what kind of Goddess Melinoë is.

Currently, Hera cast boon can is not that good and only works in a very particular build, that you haven't unlocked yet~

  3. ~46:40 "You can't do that to yourself, that's cheating" Fun thing, Eris is a wielder of the Adamant Rail from the first game. The Aspect of Eris allowed Zag to do exactly that, hit himself with the special to increase his damage. Love when they include references like that in the gameplay

  4. now that you've met best worst girl on the surface, a tip for beating her: Soot Sprint is absolutely broken against her because all her attacks are projectiles (except the grenade rain, still watch out for those)

  5. If you check the character bios in the log book, the relationship tracker will tell you if they will accept the bath salts. You need a certain level of hearts before they will accept.

You can even try Eris again…

  6. Keep in mind that you can always reroll boon rooms for different gods. Helps shape your build a bit. Also, Born Gain (Hera's magick regen boon) is ridiculously broken. With one or two magick upgrades, it's infinite mana. Next patch they're doing they are going to focus on boon balance, and it's definitely not going to survive… if you could get a run done with it while it's there you can experience unlimited Ω 😀

  7. I consider this run (pretty weak weapon + no main boons for attack/specials) as completely insane, and somehow you were able to go all the way to Eris lol Amazing stuff.

I'll patiently wait for you to give baths salt to Lord Moros 😈Also there are a few new interesting characters on the surface that you haven't met yet, so it's exciting!

  8. I love that Hera's status effect is called "Hitch." Of course it's keeping with her theme as goddess of marriage and family structure, but it's also funny.

4:31 "like Hercules." Yeah, Heracles is his Greek name. Named so as a tribute to Hera in hopes that she would take kindly to the boy (it didn't work (don't worry, they buried the hatchet later)). Hercules is the Latinized version of his name. "Mightiest of Men" seems to imply he's still mortal and hasn't yet undergone apotheosis (the act of becoming a god or being treated like a god) in the game. So I take it he's a shade that rose when the gates of Hades were swung open. 'Cause if Odysseus is dead now, then Heracles should be too. Though, and idk if the game is going to do this, I've always liked the idea that Heracles' mortal half went to Hades while his godly half went to Olympus. So if they do do it, it could be fun to watch those two halves interact.

Aw, poor Hephaestus. Being kept out of the loop. An outsider even on Olympus. Also, it makes sense he'd be against paying for godly favors. He's the god of craftsmen and the working class. So him being against a wealth barrier fits, I think.

I admit my knowledge of naval history is weaker than my understanding of the myths, but I'm pretty sure those warships are anachronistic. They're definitely not triremes. I think triremes are even namedropped earlier in the game.

Man, they really are pulling everything out of the Odyssey with Charybdis entering the fray. Eris too can be considered related, since she kickstarted the Trojan War, even though she doesn't appear in the Odyssey proper. And I've been spoiled that another character shows up later, so it seems like the only things we're missing are the Lotus Eaters and the Horse.

By far the most authentic thing in this game is the understanding that Eris is super annoying.

Shrines of Hermes? Those cowards at SuperGiant didn't have the courage to make them herms! /j

  9. People readily giving Welonz 10000 tips about how to beat Eris instead of allowing Welonz naturally to figure out how to do this in the game… Like, haven't you seen her previous videos lol Beating Chronos earlier than many other players? Defeating a cyclops with crappy weapon and zero boons for attack? Bathing with Eris before fighting with her? Welonz is a badass and she will slay in this game, you just wait and see 😼

  10. I only just started being able to beat Eris myself the other day. Once you get it down you can do it a lot easier, but damn if it didn't take me forever to beat her for the first time.

  11. Engagement Ring is very good with killing mobs of small enemies, like those fish things in Oceanus. It' also nice with stuff like Zeus' cast boon, which zaps people in your casts.
