๐Ÿค” NEW HERE? ๐Ÿค”
Hi! My name is Christopher Odd, and Iโ€™ve been playing video games online for a few years. I really enjoy a variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (Bioshock, The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us, etc), strategy/roguelike games (XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, Darkest Dungeon, etc.), and RPGs (Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Dragon Age, etc). Of course, I am always looking for great indie games, too!

  1. Love how you completely ignored Nemesis calling you out specifically for not using the trees โค much like the comments :p

Her little trap quip was also spot on ๐Ÿ˜€

    Such an impressive game.

  2. This series quickly become my daily fix really. They made a throughly enjoyable game. Still giggle at the last part where chronos mentioned he did not consume anyone lol

  3. Game actually does provide heart info contextually already. Just open a book near a boon and it will open on the page of associated deity with heart info right there. At least it does for me.

  4. I feel like I'm running out of tips to give but I still have at least a few more, today's tip is about using and abusing Chaos.

I mentioned yesterday that there's a set number of locations within each region, so to continue along that line, somewhat surprisingly and unintuitively, Chaos actually count towards it, so every time that you go to Chaos, it replaces the normal encounter (and reward) that you're supposed to get instead of Chaos. Since the well of Charon sometimes sell items that guarantees a chaos spawn in the next encounter, you can use it to skip certain chambers like minibosses, and manipulate room orders. If you're worried about accidentally skipping the shop or the free room, don't, because the game is nice enough that if you use Chaos to skip the free room/Charon at the end of each region, the game extends the region by 1 room so that you still get the free room/Charon before you face the boss. So taking Chaos to replace the free room actually gives you one extra reward that you normally don't get.

That's just one way to abuse Chaos, but you can really really abuse this mechanic in the fields of mourning, since Chaos counts as a full location, using Chaos to replace any room will actually get you through the fields way faster since each location in the fields normally has 2 or 3 encounters, which, sure, you do miss out on more than one reward, but I usually value Chaos boons more than most rewards anyways, so it's usually worth it in my eyes. What's more, a weird quirk about the fields is that if you are going to run into Echo in the fields, she always show up on the third location in the fields, but since the second location is usually a miniboss if you play normally, Echo's duplicate last reward ability usually always end up being a boon. But… if you, say, pick up the Charon well item in the transition room between oceanus and fields of mourning, it lets you skip the first 3 encounters of the fields, and gives the second location a chance to be a non-miniboss encounter. What's really useful is if that room had a daedalus hammer, so if you remember to pick up the hammer last, and go to Echo, you can potentially get a third hammer in you run, which is normally impossible without having to rely on the anvil in Charon's shop right before Chronos.

Congratulations on unlocking the surface, good luck and death to Chronos.

  5. Didn't you played Hades 1 ? I don't remember. Anyways, the relation system is the same, you can give gods or others some ambroisie, it will just augment the relationnish gauge, until you give them the final item for them to give you something new in return. Beware, after a will, you'll hace to give something other (and rarer) than ambroisie, I don't know what it will be in Hades II. Also, the gods are not the only one you can give gift to, try everyone in your camp, Arachne (this is now done), Narcissius, Echo, even Hades also, they should give you a new keepsake in return.
