The Gospel of Jesus Christ:
Man is a sinner (Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8) and our sin has separated us from our Maker (Isaiah 59:2). In His grace, God entered into His own creation in the person of Jesus Christ (John 1:1-14; Col. 1:19), born of a virgin (Matt. 1:23), and lived a perfect and sinless life, fulfilling all the Law’s demands (2 Cor. 5:21; Matt. 5:17), on a mission by God the Father to save sinners from condemnation (John 3:16-18, 6:37-40). He paid the penalty for sin which is death (Romans 6:23) and bore the sins of His people in His body on a cross (1 Peter 2:24), making propitiation by His blood (Romans 3:25). He died, was buried, and resurrected in the same body He died in on the third day for our justification (1 Cor. 15, Romans 4:25; Luke 24:39). By a living faith (James 2:18) in the Person and Work of Jesus (Romans 10:9-10), God graciously declares a person righteous (Romans 4:5), they are reconciled to their Creator (Romans 5:10-11), given Christ’s righteousness in full (Phil. 3:8-9), sealed with the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13), and have peace with God (Romans 5:1). They are born again of the Spirit (1 John 5:1, Titus 3:5), adopted into His family (Eph. 4:5–7), and are granted eternal resurrection life in Jesus Christ (1 John 5:11), set free to do good works that please Him (Eph. 2:10; 1 John 2:3-4). Jesus will physically return one day to judge the living and the dead (1 Peter 4:5; Acts 24:15; John 5:24-5), throwing the wicked out of His Kingdom (Matt. 13:41-3), but His people will be spared from the wrath to come (1 Thess. 1:10) to dwell in union with God forever (Rev. 21:3).

  1. Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
    Colossians 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
    Colossians 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

  2. What liars Adventists are.
    Jesus did not set aside His divine nature. Here's what He did by coming to Earth:

    He voluntarily divested Himself of His rightful, divine perogatives. He set aside His rightful perogatives, NOT His divine nature.

  3. On page 10 at the start of chapter 1 of Hiding In Plain Sight Elce Thunder Lauristan posts this: “ Seventh Day Adventism was born out of widespread fanaticism, biblical illiteracy, bitter disappointments, questionable visions, and stubborn irrationality.”
    I was never an Adventist, but Adventism destroyed my family. I’m sick and tired of thinking about Adventism, reading about Adventism, watching 3 hour videos about Adventism, and especially listening to Adventist cultists babble on about their precious religion. I am compelled to keep on learning about Adventism because I gotta find out why my hardcore pioneer Adventist father was tricked by the Adventist tricksters. Somebody say,’ I hear ya brother.’ I feel alone and sad. Adventists not only harm Adventists – they also harm Adventist family members. One sister is Buddhist, one is agnostic, and I am hardcore non denominational. I loathe denominations. Redeemed saints are in the Body of Christ. Period, full stop, drop mic. 🎤

  5. CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

    ARTICLE 5

    “HE DESCENDED INTO HELL. ON THE THIRD DAY HE ROSE AGAIN”

    Paragraph 1. Christ Descended into Hell

    The frequent New Testament affirmations that Jesus was “raised from the dead” presuppose that the crucified one sojourned in the realm of the dead prior to his resurrection.This was the first meaning given in the apostolic preaching to Christ’s descent into hell: that Jesus, like all men, experienced death and in his soul joined the others in the realm of the dead. But he descended there as Savior, proclaiming the Good News to the spirits imprisoned there.

    Scripture calls the abode of the dead, to which the dead Christ went down, “hell” – Sheol in Hebrew or Hades in Greek – because those who are there are deprived of the vision of God.Such is the case for all the dead, whether evil or righteous, while they await the Redeemer: which does not mean that their lot is identical, as Jesus shows through the parable of the poor man Lazarus who was received into “Abraham’s bosom”: “It is precisely these holy souls, who awaited their Savior in Abraham’s bosom, whom Christ the Lord delivered when he descended into hell.” Jesus did not descend into hell to deliver the damned, nor to destroy the hell of damnation, but to free the just who had gone before him.

    “The gospel was preached even to the dead.” The descent into hell brings the Gospel message of salvation to complete fulfillment. This is the last phase of Jesus’ messianic mission, a phase which is condensed in time but vast in its real significance: the spread of Christ’s redemptive work to all men of all times and all places, for all who are saved have been made sharers in the redemption.

    Christ went down into the depths of death so that "the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live."Jesus, “the Author of life”, by dying destroyed "him who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and [delivered] all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong bondage."Henceforth the risen Christ holds “the keys of Death and Hades”, so that “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.”

    Today a great silence reigns on earth, a great silence and a great stillness. A great silence because the King is asleep. The earth trembled and is still because God has fallen asleep in the flesh and he has raised up all who have slept ever since the world began. . . He has gone to search for Adam, our first father, as for a lost sheep. Greatly desiring to visit those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, he has gone to free from sorrow Adam in his bonds and Eve, captive with him – He who is both their God and the son of Eve. . . “I am your God, who for your sake have become your son. . . I order you, O sleeper, to awake. I did not create you to be a prisoner in hell. Rise from the dead, for I am the life of the dead.”

  6. Does no one here find it very strange that Myles is a Calvinist but he’s constantly looking to Catholicism to interpret the Bible???

    I mean just a quick google search says:

    Calvinism and Catholicism disagree on a number of issues, including:
    Scripture and tradition
    The Catholic Church considers church tradition to be equally authoritative as the Bible, while Calvinists believe the Bible is the sole source of authority.
    Interpretation of scripture
    The Catholic Church claims to have the final say on scripture interpretation, while Calvinists believe that God is the sole authority and that the Catholic Church has often misinterpreted scripture.
    Freewill
    The Catholic Church teaches that the Fall did not remove man's ability to respond to the gospel, while Calvinists believe that it did.
    Double predestination
    Calvinists believe that God elects some people to salvation and others to damnation, while Catholics may agree with unconditional election but not double predestination.

  7. Millennia from now to what purpose are souls still being tormented in hell?

    If there is no atonement, if there is no room for repentance, if there is no reprieve, then there is no purpose.

    The teaching of an eternal torment makes God out to be a despot, “love me or suffer for eternity”. This is why many find it hard to believe in God.

    The punishment is eternal. There is no coming back from the second death, (death of the soul);

    14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire (our nearest star). This is the second death. Rev 20:14 (KJV)

    The unbeliever and hypocrite perish, meaning no longer exist;

    15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

    John 3:15 (KJV)

    A murderer has no eternal life whether it is in torment or bliss;

    15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15 (KJV)

    Nowhere in the bible (KJV) does it tell us that our souls are eternal.

    And then you have this;

    4 … the SOUL that sinneth, it shall DIE.
    5 … he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD. Ezek 18:4-9 (KJV)

    And

    5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now PERISHED; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. Eccl 9:5-6 (KJV)

    Your loves and your hates are who you are, they make you, you. They also determine how you react to life; they dictate what your envies (passions) are. The bible (KJV) clearly states that the sinning soul dies (perishes), “the second death” you no longer exist.

    You don’t punish a mortal with an immortal punishment.

    Hell isn’t a place it’s a condition of the nations.

    9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. Isaiah 14:9 (KJV)

    And

    17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

    Psalms 9:17 (KJV)

    It is the condition of the nations after three major wars, (the last three trumpets of seven) for of each of God’s seven 1k year days, “woe, woe, woe,”

    6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Psalms 12:6 (KJV)

    As for the worm that doesn’t die and the fire that isn’t quenched, they are obviously symbolic:

    Worm- disdain, reproach, or contempt, (abhorrence) towards those who help bring about this tribulation (hell on earth), by those in heaven who will remember forever the pain and suffering that disobedience to God creates.

    24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh. Isaiah 66:24 (KJV)

    Fire- everlasting rebuke from the word of God to those of the second death.

    8 …

    9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. …

    16 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the REBUKING of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

    2 Sam 22:8-16 (KJV)

    And

    3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
    4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. Psalms 50:3-4 (KJV)

    And

    29 For our God is a consuming fire. Heb 12:29 (KJV)

    And

    14 … I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them. Jer 5:14 (KJV)

    And

    4 … for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever. Jer 17:4 (KJV)

    Don’t take my word for it, or any bodies for that matter. Come to the bible (KJV) as a child and with sincere want for truth, and not to consume it upon your lusts, but that you may do true worship and obedience to God, with a repentant heart, and with reason and logic the spirit of God will teach.11 … in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Acts 17:11 (KJV)

    All glory to God. Amen

  8. This was a good one. Love the detailed, thorough search into the issue of where Christ went at his death on the cross, and comparing it to Romans, Revelation and the Gospels. The mis-interpretation is due to forcing a worldview onto the text.

  9. I would stick to the mainline errors, annihilation, soul sleep, legalism. Sometimes it really comes across as nitpicking finer details that are either hard to discern or are not essential. Plus you are not well informed on the Trinity and Christology and don't seem to realize even among Calvinists there is serious dispute. Some criticisms are just like "I'm going to take the most uncharitable interpretation period, even when it's not exactly clear," and that comes across very dishonest. This from someone who rejects and debates against SDA.
