As summer returns to The Villages we are reminded how hot, and humid, it can really get here. Although it can be unbearable, we are surrounded by so much beauty that we can’t help but want to get out and explore it. We took the RV just south of Ocala, to the Santos Trailhead Campground, for am e-biking adventure. And adventure is what it was – as well as HOT – traveling through the Florida jungles. The Tarzan movies were filmed in this area and it was pretty obvious to us that they got some of their ideas from the natural surroundings and plants/trees that grow in the area.

Another place to go when it's so hot is the Florida Caverns State Park in Marianna. It is blissfully cool in the caves, and beautiful! Marianna has a wonderful ice cream shop, locally made. And a small farmer's market on Saturday mornings. Also, very beautiful historic houses. There is a campground, but not much shade there, as a hurricane took out the trees. Try a nearby county campground.
Reminds me of being cooped up in the house up north during the winter!

Lived in Florida over 40 years and summers are miserable here not just that heat but the humidity is the killer, Feel like temps of 110f🥵, Everyone on my estate gets out after daylight and it becomes a ghost town by 10am for doing outdoor activities however we also lived in NC for 3 years at 2000 elevation and had to sit indoors due to cold winters, That's why we returned to Fla. If you are a northerner you really should experience the summer here before you purchase as everyone's tolerance level is different.Not many months where you can open a window here, Air is needed most of the year!

Wait! You moved to Florida from Texas! My sister and her husband retired to Weatherford Texas last August. It was 105 there this past week. She said it was so hot she had to stay in her pool! So, hot is hot! It was 98° three days last week in Virginia. We're going to Disney World next weekend for a week in the August heat. I think that's worse than being in the Villages in the heat because crowds and rides. But it's for the girls birthdays and we had the timeshare points to burn! Hope we survive! Looking forward to our lifestyle visit in October. Thanks for a great video.
