► Hades 1.0 Full Release Story Synopsis

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best aspects of Supergiant’s critically acclaimed titles, including the fast-paced action of Bastion, the rich atmosphere and depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

As the immortal Prince of the Underworld, you’ll wield the powers and mythic weapons of Olympus to break free from the clutches of the god of the dead himself, while growing stronger and unraveling more of the story with each unique escape attempt.

  1. Unrelated to Hades, but I really hope you consider playing through Disco Elysium in March, when the Final Cut is released and full voice acting is implemented. Easily my favorite story-based game of 2019.

  2. 32:47 OH MY GOD, I HAVE OVER A HUNDRED HOURS IN THIS GAME AND SOMEHOW THIS NEVER OCCURRED TO ME

Also funny seeing you ditching Patroclus; not just because of his temporary bonuses, but also forgoing the opportunity to progress his story. Hades is one of those games where you've been making a lot of mechanics-based decisions even at the cost of lore/story haha. It's cool to see though, because it says a lot about how fun the gameplay loop is.

ALSO, I don't know if it'll help you, but there's an option to change the colour of your cursor, to make it easier to keep track of.

  3. Artemis has the highest damage output in this game, if you get hunter's mark. You can just keep doing a lot critical damage to enemies in succession with hunter's mark and clear rooms really fast. Even without it the base damage of artemis boons is nearly the same as aphrodite boons if you take critical chance into account and do the math. Also pressure points is always a great support boon to take as any instance of damage you deal can crit(there's no base crit chance in this game). That 3-4% might not look that good, but it is well balanced as a higher percentage would have been overpowered.

  4. 11:00: Technically speaking, this is incorrect, at least specifically for Aphrodite. Yes, she only needs seven personal hearts to form a bond with her, while Sisyphous needs nine… but Aphrodite only unlocks her final heart once you have formed bonds with Dusa, Meg, and Thanatos. Since they all need ten hearts to be bonded with, Aphrodite actually needs a total of thirty seven hearts to be bonded with collectively! That seems more fitting for her now, doesn't it? ;P

  5. There is a sundial. Fated persuasion is still out there to buy. I would love to see another cast build (anything but Crush Shot), and Crystal Beam is totally doable for that. Crystal Clarity makes the tracking very fast, and a couple of other boons that are good for all casts – like Mirage Shot or Fully Loaded – make it sort of ridiculous (think ten lasers). You're definitely getting to the end of this, but it's been a really great LP.

  6. I kinda love that Meg and Dusa will have conversations right in front of Zagreus that both he and the player aren't privy to. You might be the protagonist, but not everything is about you! 😆
