  1. *Not a spoiler for the game itself, but some backstory of who Orpheus and Eurydice are in greek mythology.

"The most famous story in which Orpheus figures is that of his wife Eurydice. While walking among her people, the Cicones, in tall grass at her wedding, Eurydice was set upon by a satyr. In her efforts to escape the satyr, Eurydice fell into a nest of vipers and suffered a fatal bite on her heel. Her body was discovered by Orpheus who, overcome with grief, played such sad and mournful songs that all the nymphs and gods wept. On their advice, Orpheus traveled to the underworld. His music softened the hearts of Hades and Persephone, who agreed to allow Eurydice to return with him to earth on one condition: he should walk in front of her and not look back until they both had reached the upper world. Orpheus set off with Eurydice following; however, as soon as he had reached the upper world, he immediately turned to look at her, forgetting in his eagerness that both of them needed to be in the upper world for the condition to be met. As Eurydice had not yet crossed into the upper world, she vanished for the second time, this time forever." – Wikipedia, Orpheus

  2. Once you start to get into the game you'll piece together why there's three separate versions. This game's progression and exposition is easily one of the most impressive parts about it, and songs/moments like this one are a big reason why

  3. Darren put his heart and fucking soul into this game. He's the lead composer, the singing voice of Orpheus, voices the main character and a major side character (neither of these actually BEING Orpheus, who's speaking voice is someone else), and held the office record for fastest clear time of the game. Absolute weapon

  4. What I love is that they're not singing the same notes, and Orpheus is singing counter melody to Eurydice and they pair so well together. It's definitely more impactful in context than as a standalone listen.

  5. Honestly, "Good Riddance" is a complex phrase when taken into context with the relationship with these characters. It'll mean more and make you think more when you meet and get to know each of them. I hope you have fun!
