Hades is a roguelike action role-playing video game developed and published by Supergiant Games. The game was released for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch on September 17, 2020, which followed an early access release from December 2018. Players control Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he attempts to escape from Underworld to reach Mount Olympus, at times aided by gifts bestowed on him from the other Olympians. Each run challenges the player through a random series of rooms populated with enemies and rewards, and the player uses a combination of their main weapon attack, dash power, and magic ability to defeat them while avoiding damage to progress as far as possible. While Zagreus will often die, the player can use gained treasure to improve certain attributes or unlock new weapons and abilities to improve chances of escaping on subsequent runs.

Honestly, if you're going for damage, I think the biggest mistake was not taking the 109% special damage increase (from aphrodite) early on for the hope of getting the hangover curse on your special. The hangover damage would not out damage your special with this specific aspect.

I hate Daedalus Hammers and Anvils. The power spike of a good upgrade seems so mandatory, but nothing feels worse than seeing three options that either have no effect (like an attack focused upgrade when you are doing a dash/special/cast build) or actually hurt you (like changing the spear special to a one way shot when you have stacked into backstab).

Still waiting for the day Pally learns to say Chiron (Ky-Ron) correctly. Personally it still makes me cringe a little bit every time I hear him say it wrong, but it doesn't really take away from the video as a whole. If it's an inside joke from the streams or what not, I'll understand if that's the case.

You don't have to kill adds on final fight. If boss is low, it's better to focus boss, adds disappear between stages.

Really the only mistake you really made was the anvil which took away your rapid attack. There really wasn't any Daedalus upgrades for you at that point really that were worth giving up what you had. Rapid attack on the bow looks deceptively low for damage output, but the consistency more than makes up for it. You're attacking at like 1.5 to 2 times per second at like 150 damage or whatever you were hitting at, so somewhere between 225-300 dps just attacking.
wasnt sure about this game until saw you play it, love how your theorycrafting from hots vids comes into play in this series and its fun seeing you progress. Ive watched all of the hades vids aside from 2 or 3 of them and it doesnt get old. Also more squaaaaad whenever possible pls, you and tim messing with each other and trying to work with the team is hilarious
You’re completely wrong about fucking up taking the white quality hangover. As you said yourself, %dmg only increases white dmg. So arrows that do 10 or so on the special would do 20, with 100% dmg increase. Hangover or lightning that DONT increase dmg but add a rapid effect are way BETTER. It was the right choice. The problem is getting it more than halfway through the run. You should swap rerolls to the other kind for this reason 🙂
