A little bit of trivia on Orpheus: he was Euridices husband and when she died he tried to retrieve her from hades by enticing him with his songs.
This explains why he is now court musician.
He failed in his attempt to revive her, the conditions were that he had to return back to the world of the living without turning back to see if her shade was following him. He failed right at the end.
After that his songs were so sad that caused plants and animals to die and pregnant women to miscarriage. He was murdered by irate townsfolks. Which explains why he lost the will to sing.
Don't know if the game explains that or not.
