Hades | Turning Into A Beyblade | #40

Hades is a roguelike action role-playing video game developed and published by Supergiant Games. The game was released for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch on September 17, 2020, which followed an early access release from December 2018. Players control Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he attempts to escape from Underworld to reach Mount Olympus, at times aided by gifts bestowed on him from the other Olympians. Each run challenges the player through a random series of rooms populated with enemies and rewards, and the player uses a combination of their main weapon attack, dash power, and magic ability to defeat them while avoiding damage to progress as far as possible. While Zagreus will often die, the player can use gained treasure to improve certain attributes or unlock new weapons and abilities to improve chances of escaping on subsequent runs.

  2. Scylla is often depicted as a giant octopus, but descriptions of her appearance are conflicting. In most stories, she was a Naiad (a water nymph associated with Poseidon) who was cursed into a monster by a jealous friend. It's unclear why she took up residence next to another ship-eating monster.

  3. I loved your girly scream Pally, it was my reaction too!!! Meg really love him hmmm (what this means in relation to Dusa? HE WOULD NEED TO CHOOSE!!!???)
And also, I recommend you look what Megara or Megera mean. It's a root of some words if I recall correctly.

ALSO also, I would love to see you upgrade the shackles to max, I don't think it's good but maybe something for someone who are starting to level up the mirror? And the rerolls on the mirror? Maybe theorycraft something? Idk some video separate to that… Anyway, I started a new job and finally catch up on Hades, really loving the series, Greek mythology always reminds me of childhood.

  4. Let me try to give you a rule of thumb: For slow chunky attacks you want percentage increases to your base damage (Aphrodite, Athena, Artemis, Demeter and I think Poseidon), for fast attacks you want extra effects (Zeus, Ares, Dionysus, etc).

Charging up the special with the hammer you got increases the base damage, but does nothing to the Lightning effect. You're better off spamming the special to get as many lightning effects out as possible (as you realized towards the end of the run). If you had a +80% base damage from Artemis (as an example), that +80% and the +200% from the hammer would stack, and if it crits it stacks another +200% on top. Then it would be worth charging the special.

  5. 8:40 actually, most charged attack (bow, shield) are considered base dmg increases, so it's multiplicative with all your other %increases. the formula is: base dmg * sum of all %dmg * crit dmg(if you crit) * product of all damage increase against enemy(privileged status, aphrodite boon). that's why the hammer upgrades that improves base dmg are the best ones for scaling dmg.

  6. Hey Pally, I see you finally got the secret aspects unlocked! That's a milestone acomplished for sure! I'll tell you now what gods you have to speak with for the others ok? If you wish you can read them, if not no problem, you still need to put 5 blood on each weapon for their hidden aspects to unlock the interaction.

    – For the sword speak with Nyx.
    – For the spear as you know Achiles.
    – For the shield equip it and visit Chaos (maybe it's not necesary but use the Chaos aspect just in case)
    – For the bow talk to Artemis.
    – For the fists talk to Asterius (the minotaur) on the solo miniboss fight, won't happen if Theseus is there too.
    – For the gun talk to Zeuz.

I won't spoil what aspect each unlocks but every one of them is fun to run, hope you find this useful! Bye Pally!

  7. Just a heads up on the hammers: the mantra of "always hammer" is really overkill. The game increases the likelihood of spawning hammer rooms when you skip one, so choosing something really compelling like a double boon is fine. You will likely just get another hammer soon after. I feel like a lot of people miss that because they live by the mantra.
