  1. I positively adore this game. It's just about the greatest. I was worried I wouldn't like it, it was the first roguelike/lite/thingy I'd ever tried. And GODS I'm so glad I did! I sing the songs way too often, all the time. So excited for Hades II.

Also, we stan the sons of Nyx in this house.

  2. Hottest take ever.
I don't think Hades is peak.

I shit you not I only beat the game like 2-3 times before I stopped. Weapon upgrades were super expensive and required a lot of time in Grinding… Only to barely upgrade you in anyway…?
Nah. I still think it's a good rogue like but I would never call it peak.

But again that's my silly opinion. But for how much this game was praised I expect more.

(Art and story are peak tho- even if I technically never finished the entire story)

  3. "You might be cursed at that point, because you may have already experienced peak" Me when I played any Shantae game after starting with Pirate's Curse, or any indie MetroidVania after Hollow Knight.

  4. The heat system in this game is what makes it absolutely amazing as a standout option. The fact that 1 (one) person in the world has managed to beat max-heat without mods and RNG manipulation since release just blows my mind to this day.

  5. Hades is the best game of all time. I have played it from start to credit roll over 3 times. It deserves game of the year even if it didn’t come out during that year.

  6. An addendum to the Splatoon3 Side Order dlc salt, developers interview showed they didn't expected people clearing it super fast so, either they didn't think it was easy for people to 100% it very fast or the testers where bad at rogue likes?

  7. HADES is definitely the game that got me to take a proper interest in Rogue-like games as a whole, but it is definitely the peak of what I've played so far. Ziggurat is fun, but in a more Doom-esque fashion due to being first person, and HoloCure/Vampire Survivor are addicting but lack a lot of the charms HADES has with its story and hubworld.

  8. Ngl, this video immediately being as a Netflix ad really discredits how good of a game this is. Its not just a "oh its free why not" game, it's genuienly a game changer and one of my all time favorites that serves to be played on a consol or PC

  9. My least favorite Supergiant game, 9/10.

Probably more of an 8/10 but the joke sounded better with a 9. Story keeps going strong but the gameplay starts getting a little repetitive once you beat it a few times. A lot of boons are kinda samey, the biggest difference between any run is the weapon you choose. Scott calling the boons flavor was a joke but sometimes it really does just feel like my cherry flavored sword swipe got changed to a grape flavor.

Also, Bastion is probably worse. First game, they needed to figure things out. Pyre 10/10. They figured things out.

  10. What I really love about this game was the perfect portrayal of the Gods and how accurate it is to the mythology. Hades is not some evil death lord trying to overthrow Zeus and neither Zeus is this perfect example of selflessness and dignity, just like in the ACTUAL greek mythos! Hades is a stern but reasonable god (a bit "no fun allowed" in the game and I love it), Zeus and most of the gods can be fickle, selfish, ignorant and overall too proud for basic understanding.

I also love how Chaos, the being who created EVERYTHING, have a tendency to overthink any small actions, since they are a being used to observe the universe with a wide scope where every action leads to an outcome, so anything as simple as giving a bottle of Nectar for the heck of it will get Chaos thinking whats the outcome.

  11. I'm a freaking drug addict with this game. I can never think of anything negative to say about the game. Most I can come up with is if you don't like Greek Mythology and don't like fun.

  12. I found it odd how you said "there's so much dialogue it's almost crazy", made sense as a statement until you said "death is almost interesting". If you ask me, death straight up IS interesting. Every single time you die it moves the story forward; dying is super fun in Hades because every single time you die you get more story, and more character interactions, and you get to see how your playthrough changes the starting area, like seeing Meg in the bar after you beat her.

I also take issue with the statement "it's a great introduction to the genre, but you might be tainted by the experience since you've already experienced peak." Hades is one of the least punishing rogue likes out there. Permanent upgrades are unlocked constantly throughout that apply to every run after you unlocked them so to say "it's a great introduction to the genre" I'd say is incorrect since it's so different from most rogue likes.

This whole video felt like a lot of surface level praises, kind of like the kind of thing I'd hear from a friend or a youtube comment. This might've been nice if the game hadn't been out for 3 years and been one of the biggest indie hits of the past few years.

Sorry if this sounded mean, but I just kind of hated how surface level and to put it bluntly pointless this video feels. You just said what everyone else has said about this game for years.
