  1. You gotta be more patient with the health regen boon. Like when those two rats were across the chasm, let them stay over there and heal up. When you were up against Hades? Just chill behind a pillar for a bit, keep it between you and him.

  2. Trip shot sucks so much especially with that bow at the end. You can't select your target very well and that excess damage from the other two arrows misses and is wasted more than it does anything. Twin shot is a fucking nuke!

  3. Ares' passive skill that lets you proc doom on attack WOULD be very cool IF you're confident you'll run into his boon again and get a passive skill that lets you stack doom multiple times. Especially on Malphon

  4. I REEEE'ED just a little bit when his chat told him ares special is better than ares attack for fists.
1- ares attack opens up the avenue of going for the merciful end GOD-TIER duo boon and athena was already in his god pool.
2- ares attack with dash strikes allows you to very quickly apply doom to huge swathes of enemies.
3- there exists a boon for ares which allows your doom to stack for more damage.
ares attack on fists is god-tier. Arguably the best attack boon for fists next to zeus.

ANOTHER misconception from the chat: You can buy a second death defiance, 2 is better. You can argue which is better all day, but the extra use is just that an EXTRA use, it doesn't count as one of your 2, it would put him at 3 total death defiances, all of which he could restore either via athena or well of charon.

edit: "these are all bad", epic sweet surrender….REEEEEEEEE…bad chat, BAD CHAT

  5. man, im the exact opposite of Max, i dont like the ranged weapons, the fists are my favorite weapons in the game, and then the sword, the shield aint terrible either. The spear is awesome as well though i hate its special. 😀

  6. Max lets go of the attack button when dodging with the Adamant Rail. It hurts my soul. I'm also genuinely surprised nobody told him how busted Aspect of Hestia is when he was first looking at stuff.

  7. If you like roguelikes, have you ever heard of Nova Drift and Slay the Spire?

The first is an Asteroids-like roguelike game where you pilot a small bioship around the screen, fighting waves of enemies, gaining XP and levels, and evolving your ship into ever-crazier configurations using mods you choose from a random selection at each level. You can earn rerolls, of course, and the waves of enemies come faster and stronger as you go. You can get some REALLY crazy combos going if you experiment a bit. It's surprisingly well-polished, despite still technically being in pre-release. It was also made from the ground up by one man (plus the composer for the music). It's very fun. I play it almost every day, and I'm still finding new ways to play.

The second is a Collectible Card Game/RPG roguelike. You have a deck of cards you can play using a limited pool of energy you have available each turn to attack and defend against enemies with, and you use offensive, defensive, and utility cards to progress. It's really difficult, especially at later levels, but that just encourages crazier combos that you build into your deck using cards you earn throughout the game. It has a VERY 80s-fantasy-movie-esque aesthetic, and it's quite cleverly put together. I play this quite often, as well.

If you're in the mood for a roguelike arcade space-shooter or CCG/RPG, feel free to try 'em!
