  1. I just started playing this game a week ago, immediately thought of you, then said, "Nah, there's no way. Zagreus does and has too much for one character." I'm glad you proved me wrong!

  2. Ahaha great video, totally made this as a monk/ divine soul sorcerer which works great for just using charisma but this is easily more versatile. Love your work and hope you keep it up!!!!

  3. As a huge fan of this game and of Greek mythology in general, this build was awesome, and I have so much respect for how much time you must have put in for this.

  4. I think if I was gonna make a build for this, it'd actually be a mix of Hexblade Warlock and Zealot barbarian. Warlock means Hex (boiling blood) and various boon-like spells and invocations, and Zealot means easy resurrection (though there's no way to get resurrected as easy as Zag himself). Hexblade Warlock also means being able to use Charisma as a primary stat, which I think fits him better that Wisdom since he's a wholesome himbo who makes friends easily and inspire others to be better, and he's actually got pretty bad social awareness. Sadly, this does mean sacrificing the damage bonus from rage, but I think that's an acceptable price to pay. The tough question is whether to go mostly into warlock for more boon equivalents or to go more into barbarian for Rage Beyond Death (death defiance).
Overall, your take captures more of the roguelike variation between runs and better models the various weapons, but I think that's less important than the core idea of a guy who make friends easily, doesn't stay dead, and has a fast, aggressive fighting style.

  5. Okay, getting a bit of build whiplash, watched all of the Brenden Frasier mummy movies at least twice and now onto Hades which I've never played. Let's see that I can come up with here.
Race: I want to guess a Scourge Aasimar maybe? Custom Lineage could also be a thing but I'm going with Scourge Aasimar.
Background: Dunno. Maybe Noble? With being the child of one of the big three, I guess that could count.
    Stats
    #1: Charisma
    #2: Strength
    #3: Constitution
    #4: Intelligence
    #5: Wisdom
    #6: Dexterity
    Class(es)
    – Fiend Warlock: Realistically your patron is your dad, your dad is a god not a fiend, but Hades' abilities were always more demonic than what you would expect from divine beings, so I think Tulok will justify it. Warlock gives a lot of stuff for Zagreus such as Eldritch blast as a primary ranged attack, pact of the blade for his magic hammer space sword that only exists when he's swinging it, Far step for an actually better than normal blink dash, and True Strike to remind us that, and I'm guessing at his true strike bit here, it'll probably be something about Zagreus being Bi like "If you are upset about Zagreus and Thanatos' relationship and think it's "out of place" or "unrealistic" then you've clearly never heard of ancient greece and just wait till you hear about Hercules." (I'm not as good as Tulok at building characters and I'm even worse at coming up with clever bits, so that probably won't do his true strike bit justice.)
I don't know everything Zagreus can do off hand and some of the things just don't seem to have a decent counterpart in d&d like the dark rings he leaves behind when he dashes but I think what can be gotten for Zagreus can more or less be gotten with Warlock, so this might be a mono class. I could see maybe some Paladin or Sorcerer levels but I'm gonna stick with mono for now.
Okay Tulok, show me the Kenku Barbarian/Wizard.

  6. Okay, here's an idea. Join into a nightmare difficulty campaign where pc death is all but assured and just keep playing Zagreus over and over, each time you die just pull out another Zagreus character sheet with slightly different stuff. There's no way that would ever be vetoed.

  7. "Underworld isn't particularly well lit" meanwhile in the Underworld: Tartarus is filled with torches, Asphodel is filled with lava and Elysium is just shiny
