I loved Love Lettering so I wouldn't have given that away. Love at First I liked a little less, but I'm keeping Clayborn's books because I'm interested in collecting them based on my feelings about Love Lettering. We'll see if I end up ever changing my mind.
There are multiple places I will unhaul books based on their condition and the content. I live in an apartment building that has a bookshelf near the laundry room where you can deposit books. There are a number of little free libraries in the neighborhoods around me. If the books are in very good or better condition, I will give them to my local library branches for their book sales or to a local charitable group that sells books to support literacy. They have local sales in different neighborhoods.
It's good to unhaul, Recently I did an unhaul and took the books to our local library. It has a little bookstore and the sales support the library.
Mara, I really do think you’d enjoy the 2nd Oseman book much more. I thought the mystery itself in the first book was a little bit clunky and out of place- I wanted more of the characters and their relationships. The second gives you that and the mystery ties directly into our little group, which made it more enjoyable in my opinion. I’m not a fan of people trying to solve murder unless they’re directly involved in some way or it’s a police procedural. But yes, first book I gave 4 ⭐️ and the second was an easy 5 ⭐️.

I have 2 sisters and 4 nieces who are readers– not necessarily all the same genres but when I am ready to unhaul they get first pick. I have also donated to some of the senior living centers around the area. I don't unhaul that much these days as I am almost exclusively reading e-books.

I personally hated The City And The City but I loved Kraken by Mieville, I wouldn't recommend TCATC at all. Kraken is a pretty straightforward urban fantasy, albeit with some cerebral/ philosophical elements which seem to be the author's trademark.
I made it 10 pages into The Beautiful before I DNF'd it.
Hot as hades is righttt phew I can't wait for summer to be over. My friends get first pick of any books I'm taking off my shelves. After that it's off to the library or the used bookstore.
When you were talking about Where Dreams Descend and said you couldn’t remember it, I thought, “guess that’s where dreams descend,” pun intended.

I optimistically bought an ebook of Sweethand (optimistic bc I almost NEVER read ebooks and I'm also very picky about romance) but I've never gone back after the first couple chapters! not as satisfying to unhaul an ebook but maybe I should just accept I'm not going to get to that one lol
your unhauls are always so inspirational! i'm trying to take my book collection back to be either books i LOVE and ADORE or beautiful copies of books i also love. it feels v satisfying to actually read my shelves and also freeing to know that even if i loved a book, i can get rid of it and wait for a lovely copy to come along. just bc i dont have that many books doesnt mean i dont love them!

I'm really happy to see that unhauling can be so simple! To me, is very hard, bu is good to know that who loves books can do it.
When I unhaul books they usually to to friends/family, then if no one wants them I take them to goodwill or a little free library. I do not have a used book store anywhere close and trying to sell online is just too much trouble.

Hello Mara, I really enjoy your channel. We seem to have a lot of favourite authors in common. Nora Roberts in particular, along with Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh, and a few more. I've been reading a shifter series by Shelly Laurenston that's been cracking me up and I keep thinking you'd appreciate the humour. It's her honey badger series, the first book is Hot and Badgered. So funny. Highly recommend.
