  1. It would make sense for Evil eye to grant crits, but that would make it overpowered in other ways.
Speaking of crits, Haelian NEEDS to do a familiar tierliest because Raki is cracked. Maxed out, he gives 3% base crit chance. That's almost as good as Preassure Points and it's just there! For free! You might be thinking that Frinos might pair better with Strength, but Raki actually does way mroe for you than that because he doesn't just damage enemies. His melee attakc marks them allowing you to score even more crits!

If you got to Crice and land her familiar-boosting boon, then Raki's base crit chance rises to 8%! (Which is equivalent to having his normal 3% with Preasure Points at the same time.) And he also marks things for death crits even more often.
This all adds up to quite a substantial boost to your offensive capabilities that I think more than componsates for the buffs offered by most other familiars.

Toula could become effective too for Eternity runs, but only if there was more stuff that activated from spend Death Defiances as you can stack eternity, Toula, the Luckier Tooth, (Athena's Stalward Defiance?) and Circe's boon for a total of 6 (7?) DDs.
I honestly think it wouldn't be overpowered if each upgrade to Toula gave you an extra DD in addition to extra health on each defiance and it would bring Eternity up to the level of Strength. (Providing Toula's effet always counts as a DD, which isn't self evident in all case, though it does clearly count for the purposes of Strength's effect.)

Frinos and Hecunda, however, look a bit more niche. Frinos works well with stregth due to the extra health but it's less obvious when you'd need to start with more magic.

  2. Silver wheel has absolutely saved a bunch of my runs with charon axe; the omega special even with hermes' speedup isn't fast enough into prometheus, but wheel makes it work.

  3. Unless I'm doing a specific build, i ALWAYS put the crystal figurine on to start a run. I end up getting judgment about 40% of my runs with it, but if not, getting a free arcana is pretty strong. Otherwise, what other starting keepsake could give you something that strong for your entire run?

  4. imo new silver wheel is kinda worse then the silver wheel 1.0 despite arguably being way more transformative and impactful on the run now
cus since the timeslow stopped being my default on omegas i personally went "well then its a crutch, i'll just learn to not need it" and never looked at it ever again because no timeslow became my new normal
i think i legit kinda miss the last resort utility of sw1.0 for the times i fuck up my planning and dont get a good mag regen in a run, like it saved my ass quite a number of times before the change, and now i just kinda regard it as a relic from the past i literally never use because i need the utility of other keepsakes more

  5. I don’t think there’s any reason for keepsakes to rely on RNG to proc. The gorgon amulet should be changed so that the next warden (miniboss) encounter is replaced with an Athena encounter. The fig leaf should be changed so if you complete a room fast AND damageless, it procs on the next room while retaining the 3 proc cap so you can’t use it the whole run. For Echo, I think Boon Boon Boon should be taken out of her reward pool and made into her keepsake. The next boon you take will proc the keepsake and you get a second boon from the same god.

  6. I've never liked the Moroes's pin even after hearing you explain your reasoning twice I've never gelled with how to use it. I don't get close to dying until I'm at a boss and there's limited use for it against bosses. If I'm taking something defensive I want something that's at its best against bosses which is tooth or knuckle bones.

  7. I think the main thing for a lot of your D ranks (not all) is that they are good when you are learning the game and getting your overworld leveled up. When you are at the point of consistently getting to end bosses, then other keepsakes get better. I like that different keepsakes are better depending at which skill level and progression stage you are. Thinking about beginner, intermediate, and advanced players from the gameplay dev perspective shows they want a long lasting play experience.

  8. even listening to Dan's explanation I don't understand how engraved pin is good. it does nothing at all if I play good enough to never fall to 0 and even then it's only helpful if that happens with less than 10 seconds needed to win the fight. hella situational imo but I guess I don't like using the defensive keepsakes in general

  9. Dan you forgot a side benefit of the hammer – even if it gives you one you don't want, it then eliminates that one from the pool so the next hammer you get has a better chance of giving you what you want

  10. i really dont like the damage fall of on lion fang. i think the devs should do something to make there be a chance to not lose power. Something like if you clear an encounter without getting hit you don't lose power for that encounter. honestly the beginning of a biome is definitely NOT the time where I want to be at my most powerful its at the end

  11. bro has a new player the onion and the tooth are ur besties.(I used to always use the onion when I was barely beating hecate and the tooth is straight forward everyone who played the original knows how much new players need it)

  12. The antler is still my favorite

A judgement arcana build with this in the last biome can make VERY BIG NUMBER

It’s worth every bad run for the really good ones

With the help of Apollo legendary and special and the torches I became the literal sun once with the damage I output

  13. Mostly agree with your list. I would personally put the hammer and chaos keepsake lower since its being random. Btw Athena keepsake is not bugged at all for me, works in all biomes.

Silly question, as anyone ever tried getting killed by Nemesis(the random encounter where she gives you 1 hit in exchange for a centaur heart or something) and she if it works on Evil Eye? Not that it would do anything, but hey!

  14. Arachnes keepsake will always have a special place in my heart since this game felt much more difficult and admittedly complicated coming from hades 1 so dying left and right was a common in the early game so her Keepsake was there to help me get through the tough first few hours while I was learning new gods, new boons, new mechanics, and helping me reach the later areas to gather enough resources to strengthen myself to a comfortable point where I didn’t need it anymore

  15. tbf as a beginner i took white antler to level it up and i was surprised at its performance! surprisingly good! the extra crit served as defense but more like "the best defense is offence" lmao

  16. Opinion on this tierlist
    – Moros pin is only S if you use Strength and are really good at the game
    – Chaos keepsake is way too random to be S
    – Luckier tooth is great for beginner level, same for the onion and the silky stash
    – Silver wheel has its niche so it should be B
    – Hermes keepsake is just unusable for the average player, same for Artemis and both of them are hot garbage imo

  17. I feel like most of the low-tier keepsakes are just tools to help inexperienced players, but once you don't need a lot of help surviving and get more confident, offensive/build keepsakes become more appealing

  18. Fig leaf not working on multiple encounters in Thessaly shouldn't be a bug, it says it only randomly prevents enemy encounters, not the entire location. I wonder how it works in Mourning Fields, where the same multiple encounters per location applies.

  19. Ghost Onion is really good on Strength builds. Since you take 1/2 damage, all healing under Strength is effectively twice as powerful. Getting up to 200 damage worth of healing across a biome and guaranteeing you enter the boss at full HP is solid for Strength builds. Similarly, Hades' Life Tax pulls a lot of weight under Strength as well.

Onion through Mourning Fields pretty much guarantees you are at 100% HP after the Tartarus fountain room. Follow up with Fig Leaf for Tartarus and you're getting to Chronos with high HP almost all the time.

End of day, it's still a crutch like the Tooth. But it's a big damn crutch if you need it, especially at high heat.

  20. I use Lion Fang at the surface, if a key component of a specific build i am aiming for is missing and the higher heat makes all the armored foes with additional boons even scarier. Like dealing more dmg against that in order to be able to stagger them makes it a good defensive keepsake 😂

And the Silk keepsake does not only help keeping the Arachne effect going, armor in general helps to keep up the 80% hp threshhold of Aphro.

  21. I think Luckier Tooth has to be graded in the context of who it's good for, which is people taking Death Defiances, which is beginners. For them, a "free" DD is a godsend. For more experienced players it might be useless if not detrimental to Strength-takers, but it's not for them. I'd give it at least B for those reasons.

  22. One important thing to remember about the hammer keepsake is that even if it doesn’t land on the hammer you want, it thins the pool of possible hammers in the future. So the next time you get a hammer, there’s a greater chance of getting the one you want.
